Competition: Win the Coldplay stamp package from Royal Mail (ends 10th September)
I hate it when this happens :( People who live all across the world don't even have a chance of winning something related to Coldplay (nor any other British band, for the record) Good luck to everyone who enters!

A NEW LP? What's the Plan?
Glad to be of use! Well, at least I told you only a bit of it all...:D what I mean is that a LP's recording is SO complex... I can't begin to explain it with my basic knowledge. What I know from practise is that writing songs can be extremely hard and complicated by my own, so I can't imagine how is it to make an entire album full of related to each other, not self, with the enriching experience of working with others. That's what I aknowledge to most bands as something amazing!

A NEW LP? What's the Plan?
I can only answer a couple of questions from what I've heard and been informed until now (I'm really interested in this things) I think the LP's art can be either decided after of before the actual making of it. If it's before, it is a trigger, because the music and lyrics may be inspired by many aspects of the artwork. This happened, for example in Viva La Vida. The name and inspiration was taken from a Frida Kahlo's painting. The French revolution theme was chosen after the making of the cd (or during it), and it was probably one of many options they had. They may be looking for somehting to exemplify the whole CD. That's pretty much what happens most of times. Bands get inspired in some art, and ideas, and make the art their next lp cover, or they make the music with an idea and then put it all together with some nice design someone does specially for them (with or without a piece of work that was already done) The date may be provided by the recording company or it's decided (generally by big bands like Coldplay) by the members and staff when do they have finished it. I think team work is the basis of a good LP. But team work does not only include the band members but also many other people, as the managers and consultants. Everything else, as tour dates, interviews, etc, is decided way after releasing the record. And regarding to the videos, I'm sure that when they are treating with some good song they FEEL that's gonna be huge, they know it. Hope I wasn't confusing (English is not my first languaje) and that the info I could give was most accurate and of your like. :)

"Unseen Swells" - Article
I don't want to sound rude, but it's a good moment to take the worst of me out and shout: WHO IS DEAD NOW? but ok. He might not like what our loved Coldplay does, but why should he give his so... umpleasantly sick bad critic? did colplay really bothered him that much? was he jealous or what? sounds like my old school partners talking crap 'bout everyone xD
