Oh. That explains it then. :blank: Ah, I can see why you would prefer melody over lyrics then :P (I grew up listening to Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra ) I don't completely understand them either . . . as far as I can tell, they're about dreaming of a perfect world, or a world without war, pain, poverty, etc. Or something. To be honest, Strawberry Swing is one of the few songs that I've never been able to completely comprehend the lyrics. :P

 Yes, Violet Hill, and DAAHF are the three best songs from the Viva (with Glass of Water, Strawberry Swing, and Prospekt's March close behind), although I can't decide which is the best. :P  Umm . . . Up With The Birds various live versions of Clocks Swallowed In The Sea A Rush Of Blood To The Head (Live 2003) Glass Of Water DAAHF Yes Violet Hill Strawberry Swing I Bloom Blaum Yellow (piano acoustic version) GPASUYF Help Is Round The Corner HYSTW Green Eyes

Bye Maggie! Girlfriend? :uhoh: Actually, never mind, I don't want to know :P The melody is important also, but I think the lyrics are slightly more important (of course, if there's a song with absolutely brilliant lyrics but has the dullest melody in the world, I probably won't listen to it). . . . And that's why I love Viva also--it had both!

I'm listening to Yes now :wacky: Now those are some brilliant lyrics and melody lines I keep watching Strawberry Swing and The Scientist  I've only listened to the same 15 Coldplay songs for a while now :uhoh: Plus a bunch of other random songs (Elbow, U2, etc.)

That would make it better, but to me the lyrics are so . . . empty. It just sounds like another pop song that no one will remember in five years. It really kills me to say that about Coldplay :disappointed: I fell in love with their deep lyrics and their amazing melodies and just the uniqueness of the Viva era . . . not this.

Violet Hill and Death And All His Friends and Yes and Strawberry Swing and Glass of Water and Prospekt's March . . . I'll stop now :wacky: The video ruined CB for me, now whenever I listen to it I'm going to think of hormonal teenagers making out in a nightclub :blank: As for HLH, it depends on my mood  Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't.

:dazzled: Yes. PoC is literally the only Coldplay song that I hate. There are a few that I dislike, but I just can't stand PoC
