Chinese are a nation, and a country, right? :huh: or may be countries are made up of several 'nations' or 'tribes' put together. I dunno. hmmm Sternly to her best, asking questions and all! :D a state and province are pretty much the same thing. in the U.S., we have 'State of New York' for example. In Canada, they have 'Province of Quebec', another example. I've never seen 'Region' used as a strict political terminology. 'County' in the U.S. seems comparabe to 'District' in some other countries. Basically, all these are just terms to describe territories as they relate to politics/geography. You can come up with your own term. In the State of Louisiana in the U.S., they have 'Parish' rather than more common 'County'... Ireland is definitely a country...Fifi would beat you up probably if you said it wasn't a country! :lol: Scotland and Wales are countries/nations too, I guess. I don't know how it all works and how they come under the London rule and be called collectively as 'the U.K.' I just know that many Scots are fiercely proud of their 'independence' from Britain, and of their culture, etc. And so are, I"m sure, Welch and Irish. Northern Ireland is in a case all by itself. :stunned:
