Who the Most Mainstream Band?
I dont listen to the other three bands, apart from a bit of Muse, so it would be unfair for me to comment!

I would say that coldplay aren't mainstream. There too good to be labelled mainstream. I would say some of the things they do are beyond mainstream, they are better than that!

Themes/Motifs in Mylo Xyloto
Thats a good alternative view point. I guess it comes down to we interpret it individually. I dont think there is a right or wrong interpretation. Obviously, the bands interpretation is the original and we have/will create our own ideas and thoughts!

Themes/Motifs in Mylo Xyloto
Yes, I agree, 'starting again' seems to crop up in numerous tracks!

Indeed, I have noticed that!

Yes it is complimentary about that and all the other tracks. Basically, it says that coldplay have handled the inclusion of a hip hop artist well and adapted it for her. They made the comparison that it wouldnt sound right, her being on Dont Panic, but they have created the song so it suits her style! Hope this helps.

Q Magazine: "First Impressions of... Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto"
For me, Mylo Xyloto can be that album but we havent even heard it all the through yet so I may be wrong! ;)

Nonononono I was wasnt saying, I love the album but 'a rush of blood to the head' is a saying as well as the name of the CP album. 'A rush of blood to the head' means doing something on a quick impulse. It was just an ironic joke!

Oh well, maybe I spoke too soon. That comment was based on a rush of blood to the head (haha:D:lol:) as a result of excitement caused by reading the Q review.

I've just noticed on Google that the lyrics from that review regarding UWTB are from the Leonard Cohen song 'Anthem'. That explains why it was credited partially to LC on ASDAP and BMI databases.

I genuinely believe this will be their best album yet and will be a defining album of recent times. That may sound ridiculous but I havent heard a critic say anything bad about it yet and everyone on here seems to have embraced it!
