NO. Tom wrote both songs, I'm completely sure. And what if Tim sang the demo version? Tom sang the demo version of SOWK, You don't see me... I can't quote a source right now but, as I said, in concerts Tom always says something like "this is a special moment because I wrote this song and blah blah blah". Same with Maybe I can change (it's on Wikipedia), was about his dark times with drugs. Anyway, Keane have been shooting their new music video this weekend in Barcelona: http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/telediario/cortes-bayona-exportando-talento-cine/1339996/

Yes, he did write Playing Along, I can't find a source right now... Although it's in Wikipedia and, during the PS tour, everytime he sang that song acoustic it was just him and his guitar and he always said that he had written that song, and why, and that that was just a moment for him and the audience (Tim, Richard and Jesse weren't on stage). And yep, Silenced by the night will be the first single in the US. They say it's gonna be Disconnected in the UK.

I respect people who dislike Perfect Symmetry. I don't dislike it. At first I was quite shocked by it because it was a big change for Keane. Not only sonically, but also it was weird to see them so happy, colourful, poppy... We were used to that dark/sad image of Keane. But I'm glad they did change, they almost split up in 2006 and I think that PS was their salvation. My favourite album is UTIS, closely followed by H&F and then comes PS. The thing is that I can ALWAYS listen to H&F and UTIS cause they fit my mood, personality or whatever. But I have to be extremely happy and energetic to say "Hey, let's listen to Spiralling, Better than this or Pretend that you're alone!" I think that it was a very important experience for them and that they've learned a lot from it. They're not stupid and they've obviously realised that PS didn't have the same effect on people than UTIS or H&F had. You just had to go to their gigs to see that people were much more excited when they played Everybody's changing or Crystal ball than any other PS track. I'm liking the sound and the idea of Strangeland A LOT. I already love Sovereign Light Cafe and Disconnected. And, by the way, Silenced by the night will premiere as a first single in the US on March 12! Nope, Hamburg Song was written by Tim FOR Tom. Tom has written: Closer now, Call me what you like, Maybe I can change and Playing along. Although, of course, both him and Richard have participated in all the songwritin process, even though is Tim who comes with the base.

I also think that 'Hopes and Fears' and 'Under the iron sea' are their best works. My favorite album is UTIS, I think that it works more as a whole than Hopes and Fears. I mean, Hopes and Fears has great songs such as "Somewhere only we know", "Everybody's changing", "This is the last time", "Bedshaped"... and so on. But I think the darkness and deepness on UTIS sea is what makes it a masterpiece. Although it needs to grow on you with a few listens, while H&F is more like and "immediate" album. Listening to Perfect Symmetry was hard for me at first. I felt like Keane had gone sh*t. But then you listen to 'The lovers are losing', 'Perfect Symmetry', 'Again and again' or 'You don't see me' and you realize Keane's essence is still there, under all those effects. I think their best lyrics are on PS, without a doubt (credits to Tim Rice-Oxley, and Tom Chaplin who proved he's an excellent songwriter on 'Playing along'). And I don't think you can take Night Train very seriously... actually, that's what they said. It wasn't an album, it was "a bunch of experimental songs and why nots". Just random songs they wrote while they were on tour. I'm happy to hear that their new album will be like Under the iron sea, because as I said it's my favorite album. I also think that it's great that they're taking a break and working without any pressure, that's how Hopes and Fears was created. And I'm also sure that the addition of Jesse Quin (who's an excellent musician and songrwiter) will be something very important on Keane's carreer.

Thanks! Keane updated their site with the winner of the contest and said: "By the way, sorry things have been a bit quiet on km.com recently. Think of it as a midsummer lull. But we're planning to have lots of interesting new Keane-y news coming your way on the site before very long..."

Hello! I'm new here. I like Coldplay very much but I'm more of a Keane fan so I decided to join and chat a little bit with you about them (especially now that it looks like they've been absorbed by a black hole). Favs on H&F: Somewhere only we know, We might as well be strangers Favs on UTIS: Atlantic, Nothing in my way Favs on PS: Perfect Symmetry, Love is the end Favs on NT: My shadow My favorite song ever is 'Somewhere only we know' and favorite album "Under the iron sea". About the new album, Richard recently said it'll come out next year. And they said it sounds very like UTIS + the energy of PS and more rock. And it'll probably have these two new songs: Sovereign Light Cafe: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzoKRres4P4]Sovereign Light Cafe - YouTube[/ame] Disconnected: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UE_i9Rxmkw]Keane Disconnected New Song in High Definition - YouTube[/ame] PS: Sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm spanish!
