  1. That album is a classic. One of the best albums in the past 10 years.
  2. I think his reputation more depends on GS being a good album or not.
  3. The Red Army replied to Simon7's topic in Coldplay
the comics though....though I don't really care about them
  4. Just watched it. In regards to the grainy effect, it didn't really bother me. But I noticed it a lot more on some songs than others. At times, I felt as though I didn't even notice it, while in some songs like HLH, it was noticeable. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the little interviews or voice-overs rather from each of the band. I also didn't mind that they took footage from different concert venues. Only thing that was kind of weird, was Violet Hill. Maybe it was that the crowd didn't seem too much into it, but it could have been better at another smaller venue or even at the Stade de France. In terms of the extras, it was kind of lacking. They could've included LiJ and Speed of Sound or any of the other songs that were excluded. However, I did really enjoy The Scientist and am searching for its mp3. Initially, I was eating and watching, so I missed a lot of cuts/angles/views in the first few songs, but after I was glued to the TV. I'll have to re-watch it very soon. Also, the fact that I already knew what would happen in every song having watched so many videos from their concerts took some of the surprise away from me. But, my brother watched it with me and it was all new to him and I could tell that he came away impressed. Finally, I really enjoyed how every segment led into a song with a certain emotive feel to it such as Will talking about his kids, then Up in Flames playing or after VLV they had Guy talking about what Glastonbury meant to the band. Those small touches I enjoyed. One thing that bothered me was how they would zoom in and out of one concert during one song, like Major Minus. That whole animation of zooming out of the world was kinda meh, but that's a minor thing. Overall, I enjoyed it and If I had to give it a score, probably 8/10. (Also, if anyone finds a mp3 of The Scientist, please PM me...I know...I tried looking in the Multimedia section, but nothing there as of yet...I tried googling it as well, but I got nothing)
  5. In regards to sales in the US, "while Capitol stalwart Coldplay’s Live 2012 CD/DVD will sell in the 30-35k range. (11/20p)" Source: http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi So it could maybe chart top 15-20ish.
  6. Finally getting this in the mail today.
  7. haha yeah...I remember watching that scene in Homeland than having to rewind it to make sure I heard it right
  8. Not sure, but I'd be interested to see how it charts as well. Side note: Live 2012 is currently #3 on Australian iTunes, #15 on NZ iTunes, #4 on both German and Swiss iTunes...I'm gonna keep an eye out to see if they actually chart in the coming weeks.
  9. Lol so cringe-worthy...I hope the other secret location concert their doing will be longer.
  10. Lol at "the television event of the year"...I like Coldplay, but c'mon...that hype is way too much, especially for just 4 songs I was listening before and they said Yellow was going to be played and I saw the Viva bell. So that's 2 songs, and probably Paradise as well.
  11. According to this article, they are playing 4 songs and should start at around 7:40 am (Sydney time) http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2012/11/coldplay-on-sunrise.html So for sure they will probably play VLV and Paradise, I think.
  12. This sounds great! Just started listening to it...this should do me good until I get the Blu-Ray
  13. Not sure where to post this, but the iTunes pre-order link for the live album is giving 90 second previews of each song. Though, we have heard each song live many times by now, but yeah its out there. Seems to be swearing or explicit language in three of the songs too.
  14. looks and sounds great (the instrumentation is so crisp)...although they seemed to have cut or substantially reduced the audience's noise...(when compared to yellow at glastonbury or rock in rio for example)
  15. It's weird. Most fans here have a very mixed response to this video, as can be seen by the poll. But, the press and the reviews I have read so far all seem to like it and some even praise it. Bit weird.
  16. Can't wait to watch this on Blu-ray on the big screen with a proper sound system. Will be a nice night. I'm actually hoping for a lot of backstage commentary and just the band talking, as that is going to be more interesting to me as I've seen so many videos of the concerts already (though these 3 previews have some unique camera angles).
  17. Thought it was all-right, not really dissapointed. Much better than CB (which was the worst) and PoC (which was better than CB, but that's like saying garbage is better than shit, and at the end of the day, their both pretty rank). My only gripe is that the radio/music video is so short, only 3 mins (usually a radio song goes about 3 and a half mins, no?). They cut short the 2 guitar riffs/solos. But that's a minor thing as we already have the full song. To everyone saying it's an ad for the comic, so what if it is? That shouldn't really come as a surprise as it was already stated that the music video was going to be a prelude to the comic. And I don't see what's wrong with promoting the comic as its their comic which is related to their album. I mean, if it was an ad for some other random topic, then it would be perplexing, but it really wasn't. Even in some parts of the video, like at 1:19 in the video, their singing, "I won't let them take control" and their showing those army dudes walking/marching along, which shows that there is some sense of connection between the lyrics and the video. Also, the part right after that, where they sing, "feel a little bit nervous"...you have those two people (are they the Car Kids?) looking at each other and you can sense that "nervousness and not being able to relax" between them as they are being chased. That's just on the first watch, there are probably more connections. The static animation didn't even bother me either but hey, at the end of the day, if you hate, you hate it. Just pretend it never happened (in my head, the CB video doesn't really exist) At least we got the Coldplay Live Film to look forward too now...
  18. looks good...this was a nice surprise
  19. Ahh...I need to see these videos (damn iPhone!)
  20. Was contemplating between digital or Blu-ray...but decided to go with Blu-ray. It's cheap on the Amazon (Canada)...only $15.99 I wonder whether there will be swearing on this...I reckon there should.
  21. haha yeah...I hope the video comes out before though...but at least we get two things at once. HLH plus the film
