Rank the Ghost Stories songs!
Songs that I enjoyed. Oceans True Love Always in my head O Ink. I think ink and true love could have been executed a bit better but they're all still good, In the 7-10 range. The rest of the songs not on this list are not really meeting my standards in music when it comes to Coldplay. Some of the songs could have been good if they weren't made to sound so poppy like ASFOS. Something about Tue love really gets me though. I love the guitar and the vocals. It reminds me of a B-side or two but I don't remember which ones. Can anyone help me out here. Are there any B-sides that sound similar to true love in any way.

Another's Arms
This song is weird. I really dislike the first half, but after Jonny comes in, the song really improves. But it still doesn't make up for the beginning. This song's lyrics are quite bad. I want lyrics that are meaningful and profound like What If, Fix you, Moving To Mars, and if they can't be that, then they at least shouldn't sound cheesy. When I hear these lyrics it makes me want to roll my eyes. I also really hate the woman singing in the background. Coldplay is really relying too much on backing tracks, it's kinda pissing me off. I mean what's the point of playing something live if it's just going to keep playing after you leave? *Jonny playing piano during Magic*. MX was good-great. As of now GS seems like it's going to be meh-ok depending on how the other songs sound.

Always In My Head
I like this song but I don't love it. It's definitely better than midnight and magic though. Another arms is weird. I really like the second half when the guitar kicks in, but I really don't like the woman singing or the lyrics. This album is sounding a little too over produced for my taste. Too many backing tracks. Like when Jonny was playing the piano on magic, it kept playing after he got up. What's up with that? They're relying too much on machines.

Powerful Songs Anyone?
Songs with heavy guitar/piano like What if or 42 is what I want

Powerful Songs Anyone?
I just head In The Sun with Coldplay and Michael Stipe for the first time. And I know it's not technically Coldplay, but that performance man. That's the kind of music I want to be hearing.

Midnight
"Just like I said in previous forum, this song need some more listens and then you start to like the song" "I was shock when i first hear midnight, but after listening it for hours i'm getting used to it and starting to like it." "The first time I heard it I was a bit in shock, but this song keeps growing on me. It's on repeat for the last couple of days now!" "It took me a few listens to really grasp and get used to, but it grew on me and now I just love it." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are a bunch of other quotes from the thread. I wasn't directing it at you.

If someone likes a band because that band actually plays real instruments and then they suddenly stop playing instruments, then you'll stop liking that band. Or at least anything new they make.

Midnight
And I never directed any of this at you.

I never said you couldn't listen to a song more than once. I said you shouldn't try and make yourself like the song just because you want to like it.

I understand different songs require different perspectives. And if you go into a song expecting something and you get something else you probably wont enjoy it as much as you could have. What I'm really trying to say is just because you like a certain band doesn't mean you have to force yourself to like everything they release. I see some people who act like Coldplay is one of their friends and that they have to support them no matter what kind of musical choices they make and they think if you don't support every choice Coldplay makes then your not a true fan. Those people piss me off.

I didn't say you have to listen to the song. I said if someone needs to listen to a song over and over again to get used to it in order to like it, then they are doing something wrong. You shouldn't have to get used to a song in order to like a song. That's treating music like cigarettes. You either like the song or you don't. I've heard midnight a total of TWO times. That's it. And I don't plan on listening to that version of the song again.

Midnight
I hate it when I hear people saying they're getting used to the new song after hearing it over and over again. You shouldn't have to get used to the song. Having to watch or listen to something over and over again for your mind to except it is called indoctrination.

Paradise excites me, lotus flower is just a little dull for my taste., but i still love both bands
