Just to stir up some more controversy, my friend and I made this...here's the note I posted to Facebook. Cheers everyone :D Ethan and I were bored one day...so we while we were playing FIFA we put Coldplay on. They're one of my favorite bands, and we both know the catalog front-to-back-to-front (though if I had to go to a desert island or the moon I would take a few bands ahead of them)...so to make it even more fun we gave every song ratings out of 10! Predictably, vicious arguments ensued. I thought Don't Panic was the best song on Parachutes, he favored Shiver. I liked Spies, he liked Sparks. I was astounded he didn't rate Green Eyes as high as I did, he was amazed I wasn't as fond of Amsterdam. And that's not even dealing with all the fighting we did over X&Y. Nevertheless, we compromised. We actually only outright agreed on a few things: Crest of Waves is a 10 hands-down, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall is so bad it doesn't deserve a rating but we gave it one out of pure sympathy, Lovers in Japan deserves to be laughed at, then spat on, then shot, it's not possible for Clocks to feasibly be any higher or lower than a 9, and Fix You was overrated. Before you get your hopes up, get them up even more! I ended up devising four rating methods: a simple subjective (where I give the album what I feel it deserves out of 10), average (where I take the score of each song on the album, add them all together, divide that my the number of songs on the album, then put that sum over 10), median (where I line up the scores and take the middle one out) and range (where I subtract the lowest score on the album from the highest, with lower being better).
