Edit: How NYMag took this article below and changed it into this headline and article, I can't tell. Shame on them...is this what goes as "journalism" now? Gwyneth Paltrow Returns for Latest Hugo Boss Scent LONDON — Hugo Boss is adding day to night with the addition of a new fragrance, Boss Jour Pour Femme, designed to complement its Boss Nuit Pour Femme scent — and Gwyneth Paltrow is back as the face of the new offering. The floral-fruity scent has top notes of grapefruit flower and lime, a heart of freesia, lily of the valley and honeysuckle, and white birch and creamy amber at its base. P&G Prestige, which holds the license for Hugo Boss fragrances, had in mind a successful, multifaceted woman when they created both of the scents. A woman like Paltrow, who manages to balance career and family with all the commitments of modern life. “Gwyneth Paltrow embodies hard work, femininity and sophistication,” said Carla Luini, vice president of fashion brands for P&G Prestige. “She is a woman that has so many different roles, each and every day. From being an actor to being a mother, a writer, a businesswoman…” For her part, Paltrow said, “I have had a really good experience working for Boss, and I always say this, but it really is such a perfect job when you have kids. “I can only really do one film a year now because of my family and how it all works out, so it’s so nice for me to be able to work for a great company and, you know, I’m going to Spain next week for two days so I still get to travel and meet really interesting people and have a work interaction. But it’s not like I am out of the house for three months,” added Paltrow at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel here ahead of the official launch in Valencia, Spain, this week. Paltrow added that she is something of a collector of fragrances. “I am one of those people who have a whole closet full of perfume. I love it; I have always loved it and have always had a wardrobe full of scent,” she said, admitting to having at least a hundred in her possession. “I think that Jour is the perfect name for it — it’s very uplifting,” she said of the new scent. And uplifting may be just what she needs given her regular morning routine. “I wake up at 7 a.m., I get [the kids] fed, and I get them dressed in their uniforms, any bits of homework are finished,” Paltrow explained. “I take them to school. She [Apple, now 9] gets dropped off at 8:25 a.m., and he [Moses, now 7] gets dropped off at 8:45 a.m., so we have a croissant together in his school dining room and we do reading together. Then I go home and I work for one hour on all the e-mails that come in overnight from L.A. Then I exercise from about 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then I work on Goop [the digital media and e-commerce company she founded] pretty much the rest of the day until I pick up my kids and then they have various activities.” The fragrance was created by the P&G Prestige Fragrance Creation Team in collaboration with International Flavors & Fragrances, while the packaging, designed along the same sleek lines as Boss Nuit, echoes the notion of light — a clean white bottle with a golden band at its neck and a light-catching clear plastic cap. An exclusive launch at World Duty Free from May 15 precludes the full global rollout, which will start on July 15 in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, followed by the U.K. on July 24 and further global markets over the next six months. China will launch in April 2014. It will be stocked in around 21,000 doors globally, in line with Boss Nuit. Boss Jour Pour Femme will be sold as an eau de parfum at 30 ml. for $46, 50 ml. for $59 and 75 ml. for $75. Ancillary products comprise a shower gel, body lotion and deodorant. P&G Prestige declined to comment on sales predictions, but industry sources say it can expect to make 200 million euros, or about $261.7 million at current exchange, during its first year on the counter. Guy Aroch photographed the print campaign, while the TV commercial was shot by director Jordan Scott, daughter of Ridley Scott.

Happy birthday Apple :) I can't embed the video but check it out on the link: Watch Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, and More in 'Who Do You Chime For?' It's to be expected that Chime for Change will continue to feature the hottest names in Hollywood for its upcoming campaigns—as Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Lopez are headlining the upcoming Sound of Change concert in London, and Knowles as well as Salma Hayek, Frida Giannini, and Hearst are all partners for the overall campaign (which aimed to support women's empowerment). The latest promo video from the cause continues on this A-list streak with cameos from Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Katy Perry, Cameron Diaz, Freida Pinto, Jada Pinkett Smith, and others revealing the women in their lives who inspire them most. (Cuteness alert: Paltrow says it's her daughter, Apple). Watch the exclusive video below, and and then get involved by posting a photo of who you "chime" for on facebook.com/ChimeForChange, and it could be featured during the Sound of Change live performance on June 1. Then, check out the last Chime for Change video we loved, pegged to Mother's Day.

They updated the article slightly to include this part: NEW YORK — For those who have never met her, it seems woefully easy to disparage Gwyneth Paltrow. She's a stunning blonde with a famous musician husband (Coldplay's Chris Martin) and two kids. She has homes on two continents. She's BFFs with Beyoncé and Stella McCartney. Her life seems charmed, so yes, she gets why she can be polarizing. "I'm a real lightning rod. People project a lot of stuff onto me. It's nothing to do with me. I don't read stuff about myself. I feel like it's none of my business," says Paltrow, 40. "People perceive that I have too much. I understand that, but I also feel like I've suffered so much. It's not something I talk about. I don't have a perfect life. I don't have a perfect anything. I have incredible struggles, and I'm far from perfect. I struggle like every other woman, every other mother. I understand that things look a certain way." Mostly, Paltrow says, she focuses on her many work endeavors, none of which were strategically planned: "I have to wait until something is brewing."

I think this is again an out of context article... if I remember correctly she was asked in an interview, "IF you could open a restaurant what would it serve" or something to that effect. She didn't voluntarily express that she wanted to open a restaurant.

How Kids Can Help Cook for Mother's Day: Ages 7 to 10 In the run-up to Mother's Day, we're looking at how kids of different ages can give Mom the day off by helping to prepare some fun brunch recipes. Yesterday, we looked at the 4-to-6-year-old set; today, for the 7-to-10 bracket, we turned for advice to our friends at goop, the weekly newsletter/website about food, travel, fashion, and wellness. At goop, we are often thinking of what grown-ups can make for kids, but rarely what they can make for us. So when Bon Appetit asked us to contribute some ideas around what 7-10 year olds might whip up their mom's for Mother's Day, we couldn't think of anyone better to consult than our editor in chief, Gwyneth Paltrow, mother of Apple, 8, and Moses, 7. So, we spent a day in the goop test kitchen (which at the moment is actually just Gwyneth's kitchen), with Apple and Moses as they prepared an early Mother's Day brunch for their mom. What struck us immediately was the sense of autonomy Gwyneth allows her kids in the kitchen. From little things like deciding which plate to use for the toast to leaving out the blueberries in the parfait--these were their choices to make, and the more they were allowed to make them, the more invested they seemed to become in the task and the more empowered they were to do more. For example, we almost panicked when Apple picked up the bread knife to slice the baguette, but Gwyneth calmly assured: "It's okay, she can do it." And she did. Under her mom's supervision, she sliced slowly and carefully until she had the right amount of thin pieces of bread to toast. From there, she completed the dish on her own--toasting the bread in batches, finding the right bowl for the olive oil, arranging everything on a larger plate--without asking for help from the grown-ups. As Gwyneth explains: "I always feel like the kitchen is fertile ground for my kids to expand in all ways. It's so practical and essential for life and they really grow into their bigger versions of themselves when they are in the kitchen. I always have a lot of fun cooking with them." Some tasks, of course, require a little more adult involvement. Moses made a breakfast smoothie with rice milk and fruit, but as with anything involving a battery-powered blade, Mom was there to help and supervise. But as we in the goop test kitchen have learned, much of cooking is confidence. And giving your kids the confidence to make their own choices in the kitchen by backing off at times when it's not necessary to intervene (they'll eventually learn how much maple syrup is too much) can be invaluable gift to them in the long run. Apple and Moses are two budding young chefs who are returning the favor, in the form of brunch, this Mother's Day. What 7-to-10-year-olds CAN do in the kitchen: Cut soft fruits with a butter knife. Assemble Cut bread with bread knife (with supervision). It helps to use a long baguette like the one pictured to make sure those little fingers are nowhere near the blade, but they should still be watched over at all times when slicing bread. Toast Pour Blend (with supervision). Moses was great at pouring the ingredients in and turning the dial when it was time, but grown-ups should close the top, and make sure their hands are no where near that blade at anytime Sprinkle Mix What they CAN'T quite do yet: Chop, grate, boil water, fry, handle raw meat, remove things from oven. Gwyneth's Mother's Day Brunch Menu Toasted Baguette with Olive Oil to Dip Granola and Yogurt Parfait Breakfast Smoothie Apple's Famous Fruit Salad (that's what she calls it) Apple's Famous Fruit Salad Serves 1 INGREDIENTS 1 handful of mango, cubed 1 handful of blueberries 1 handful of raspberries 5-6 strawberries 1/2 banana Scoop of yogurt PREPARATION Place mango, blueberries and raspberries in a bowl. Using a butter knife, slice tops off of strawberries, then slice strawberries in quarters. Add to bowl. Next, cut in bananas into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Add to bowl. Drizzle yogurt on top. Eat!

Pinterest, Texting, and Skateboarding Rats: Gwyneth's Tech Obsessions POPSUGAR: Why did you want to get into this travel app business? Gwyneth Paltrow: It was a natural extension of what we do at goop anyway, which is curation basically. I love food; I love to travel; I’m a very curious person. I was always the person my friends call and say, "I’m going to New York, where should I do this? I’m going to Paris" . . . whatever. I was always that person. I had books everywhere of things that I loved in various cities and I just thought, "I would love to have it for myself." I started working on the content and I love having a place to go to where it’s places that I love and doctors that are amazing, just all that useful information. When I moved to England, for example, I didn’t know that if you have an emergency, you don’t dial 911. All that stuff. Anything you would need as a traveler. PS: We’re in the Apple store — are you a texter or a good old-fashioned phone call? GP: I’ve become a texter. I find it so quick. It’s also made phone calls a lot more special. I do text more than I call, for sure. Now a phone call is a real thing — it’s like, "Are you available to talk?" It’s not like it used to be. PS: When you travel, what are your must-take travel gadgets? GP: iPhone and iPad, for sure. I love my iPad mini: I’ve got all my books on there, TV shows — I think that thing is a genius. And my Bose noise-cancelling headphones. Discover the iPad games Gwyneth plays with her kids and the "girl porn" social network after the jump. PS: In terms of apps that you like to play with your kids, do you find that the iPad mini is great for entertaining? GP: You have to be careful with it, though, because they’ll just do it forever. When you’re flying, it’s the greatest thing in the world, but sometimes I’m like, "OK, we have to limit the time now." They’re always finding [new apps]. . . . There’s a truth or dare game. They’re really obsessed with Rat on a Skateboard and Rat on a Jet Ski — there are all these rat-on-a-thing [games]. Things I would not know about. Apps to make a music video. They are super technological, way more than I am. "Oh, mom, you just press this." PS: In addition to your iPhone apps, how else have you used technology to streamline your business? GP: Video conferencing is very helpful. Things like PowerPoint, Excel — I think PowerPoints are amazing for getting a vision across. I use Pinterest a lot as well. I’m always creating boards for inspiration or ideas. It’s very rich. I think Pinterest is amazing — it’s very hard to stop. It’s weird. It’s girl porn or something. You can’t put it down. PS: Aside from tech stuff, when you’re traveling, what’s the one thing you always take? GP: I always take my packet, passport, earplugs, eye mask, vitamin C, colloidal silver to spray to keep germs away — my travel pack.

And Jessica and Gwyneth at the Apple Store in Soho today: src Some of the answers from the session will come filtering in soon... Gwyneth's pick for best dressed at the Met Gala Gwyneth Paltrow turned plenty of heads last night at the Met Gala, where she walked the stairs in a hot pink Valentino Haute Couture Corolle dress. Who was the Iron Man 3 actress’s pick for best dressed? Ask Paltrow who the belle of the ball was, and she’s quick to answer… Miranda Kerr. “She was wearing a black Michael Kors dress that was sort of like a sparkling bandeau, and her whole stomach was showing,” says Paltrow, who was also in NYC to promote her new GOOP City Guides app with an appearance today at the Apple Store in SoHo. “It was really beautiful. It was a little punk-y. She’s just so pretty, it’s abnormal.” Kerr, a former Victoria’s Secret model who is married to actor Orlando Bloom, seemed to take it all in stride, according to Paltrow. “I was like, ‘Is it weird to be that pretty?’” the actress recalls, laughing. “And she was like, ‘No.’”

Go Jessica! Jessica Seinfeld: I Hate Everyone Who Criticizes Gwyneth Paltrow (VIDEO) Gwyneth Paltrow has a good friend in Jessica Seinfeld. When Jerry Seinfeld's better half stopped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday to talk about her non-profit Baby Buggyand new tome The Can't Cook Book, talked turned to other celebrity-mom-chefs. "Who are the other celebrities that you look up to that have written books?" asked host Abby Huntsman. "Gwyneth Paltrow is an amazing cook," Seinfeld quickly responded. "She's one of my great friends and is truly an amazing cook." "That's the criticism she gets: how can she write a cookbook when she's not a chef?" asked Huntsman. "Oh, I hate everyone that criticizes her," replied Seinfeld. "You know what? They don't know her. Her book is amazing. I watched her create the whole entire thing....She makes the best chicken and gravy I've ever had, at any restaurant, anywhere. She's the real deal."
