[video=youtube;IBkB_mfl22Y] I found this recently and it has the highest quality version of "So Sad" I've heard so far. I really hope that one day a full recording/video of that live set comes out.

You can link images with with the link between the tags (without the link part I put in there to illustrate). It'll have to be a direct link so it would end with .jpg. Like so http://i.imgur.com/BYJGj9B.jpg You'd place that link between the tags. I'd use http://imgur.com/ if I were you. It's straight forward without all the ad shit that permeates through sites like tinypic or photobucket.

I think I'm done buying for a bit.

The audio quality is great, all the singles are pressed on heavy vinyl. My largest gripe with it is that the manufacturing of the singles is inconsistent. They sound great, but the edges of some of the records feels sharp enough to cut you, and the center hole cuts are either kinda loose or "stuck to the turntable platter" tight. My copy of Speed of Sound from the set has a misprint, the label for side A is also on side B. But this is kinda nit-picky, as it's only aesthetic, and they get regular listens from me. I wouldn't pay more than $40 or $45 for it. That's what I got it for a few years ago, still sealed. I also just got a 12" copy of the numbered commercial release for The Blue Room, completing my Blue Room collection. Now all I need is the Yellow 12", Don't Panic 12" and Brothers & Sisters on 7".

My first reaction was that it's fake. Using a standard square cover in a slimcase is unusual. But then again that's how limited, low effort promo releases can be. It seems like the time of promo cardsleeves is over. And I wouldn't go to Discogs for a definitive answer. If it is fake, it seems very well done. I'm leaning more toward legit. Anyway, I recently came across some CD and vinyl promos for The Blue Room. And the whole vinyl collection (excluding ETIAW 7" which is in the singles box and the blue room ep) including some 12x12 display cards

A Sky Full of Stars got a commercial single slimcase release, but the b-sides are remixes. It was released in Germany, Austria, & Switzerland according to discogs. Got one imported today, it's a pretty decent single if you're looking for newer items.

Whom exactly were the 12" vinyl promos from the earlier albums intended for? I'd imagine by 2000, very few radio stations still used turn tables. Why not save the money and stick to CD promos? I just got a 12" promo for Trouble and I began to wonder. Also, how rare are the 12" Yellow and Trouble releases?

Found another interesting promo from Asia here, it's a AROBTTH promo in a box with what looks like a poster. It looks similar to the European numbered cardsleeve promo that was numbered too. Is it legit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coldplay-A-Rush-Of-Blood-To-The-Head-Taiwan-Numbered-CD-Promo-Poster-W-Box-RARE-/271328627139?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item3f2c7249c3

I got a copy of Life in Technicolor ii on 7" for $13 earlier, which seems like a pretty good price for it so I'm happy (Discogs lowest price sold is $11.36, median $26.04). How rare is it compared to other 7" releases?

How much should I think about paying for the Brothers & Sisters EP on 7" vinyl? There's a few copies on Discogs starting at $69 in NM condition, but if they've shown up cheaper I'd rather wait and see.

Does anyone else here have a problem with their Coldplay Singles 7" vinyl box set where Speed of Sound has no label saying which side X is on? I mean it has a b-side label on both sides. It's no big deal since I can tell by the groves which side is which. In other words, this is the label on both sides.

- Post Your A/V setups
I'm sure there are those here with some serious setups, so show and explain! Pictured: Dell Inspiron N5050 w/ foobar2000 for music listening and a Soundblaster X-Fi Go Pro external audio card Xbox 360 for games obviously, plus streaming music to it via foobar with a UPnP server Coby 15" LED TV for TV, Xbox and sometimes a second monitor Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones AKG K-77 headphones Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers And finally (Sorry for the quality but the lighting was poor and had to use a longer exposure) Audio Technica AT-LP120. It's all a bit clumped but space is at a premium and having all this in one place is nice. Cable Management Status: Chaos- How many offical cd's of Coldplay do you have?

£4,000.00 is still an absurd price, even for the Safety EP. There's a copy up for sale for $1617 right now.- Does X&Y have sony DRM on it?
I'm honestly not sure. If you're referring to the Sony BMG DRM rootkit debacle from a few years ago, I don't think X&Y was ever released with it. However, some copies do have a form of DRM on them but I can't tell from that ebay page. I have an Australian copy of the single for Talk which has DRM on it, but it's almost completely useless. The front cover has the "CONTENT PROTECTED" text and the logo, which I can't see on the picture of the CD in that auction. The CD plays just fine when I play it in foobar2000 or Winamp. I also ripped it without a problem. But I'm sure there's someone here who could answer the question with better accuracy.- = Coldplay Record/CD Collectors' Thread =
There's only 2, the original and then the re-release in 2001 after the success of Parachutes as far as I know. I'd imagine the numbers might indicate the batch number from when it was manufactured, so if they had a batch that was screwed up they can track down the affected disks much easier.- = Coldplay Record/CD Collectors' Thread =
Then apparently it's a re-release. But I'm not worried about it.- = Coldplay Record/CD Collectors' Thread =
Is there a way to differentiate the original 1999 release from the 2001 re-release? All the release info on the back is dated 1999. Edit: Now's actually a good time to update my collection A Rush of Blood To The Head (Japan Release) Brothers and Sisters EP (US Release - Brash) The Blue Room EP Charlie Brown (US Promo) Clocks (EU 3 track) Don't Panic (EU 2 track cardsleeve) Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (US 2 track single) Fix You (EU 3 track + video) God Put A Smile Upon Your Face (Philippine EP 6 tracks + 2 videos) In My Place (EU 3 track single) Life in Technicolor ii (EU 2 track promo) Mylo Xyloto Parachutes Prospekt's March EP (US cardsleeve) Shiver (EU 2 track single) Speed of Sound (EU 2 track single) Talk (Australian 3 track single) Talk (EU 2 track single) Talk (DVD Single) The Scientist (EU 3 track single) Trouble (EU 3 track single) Trouble: Norwegian Live EP Up With The Birds (RSD 7" Vinyl - Thanks to forums user 66) Violet Hill (US 1 track promo) Viva La Vida (Prospekt's March Edition) Yellow (EU 3 track single) X&Y- = Coldplay Record/CD Collectors' Thread =

Are there still Paradise promos floating around? I've been keeping an eye on ebay for a while but there's only 1 up with a B/O of $65. It's been like this for a while.- How has Paradise done so well?
You could probably fit Coldplay in with them too.- How has Paradise done so well?
