We, the undersigned, object to the UK tour "no fans' pre-sale", "no standing" policy!
And infact i've clicked on one of the sellers and they have various tickets for other O2 arena events such as Lee Evans and Tina Turner. They are complete scum. I am so for a system where you need your photo on the ticket.

Sorry for going a little of subject. I know this isn't directly at the organisers but i just want to say this: I have just looked on eBay and tickets for the same block as me at the O2 Arena are on 'buy it now' prices of £350-£400 for 2 tickets. What really upsets me is that because of my seats i must of been standing amongst these people this morning and saw them. You just knew they were all touts especially when security announced you needed photo ID there were a few panics. I know it must be hard for very rich people not to want front block seats but if they are boycotted these people cannot sell these tickets on for such a large profit. I hate the way some of the people i was standing around live in the surrounding area and probably do this for all the big events as they live near an arena.

This isn't so much the tour policy but the O2 Arena box office. I know i got really good seats but what they do in terms of payment is cheeky. Everyone knows buying tickets is expensive but there is a sign at the box office that says, if you buy with credit/debit card we will add a 12% charge to your tickets for handling. My girlfriend had got out cash for two tickets this meant i had to pay on card making my tickets technically £48 instead of £42.50. Hardly anyone carries cash for buying tickets and O2 know this and should be ashamed of themselves

16-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Sorry i know i put this in another thread but just incase i thought i would put it again Ok i think i can clear this one up: I live in Greenwich and i decided to go down to the O2 Arena itself to get tickets. Previously my girlfriend was told they would go onsale at 9, i thought wow half an hour before the net but suspicious. We got there at 8:30 and there were a few people there. The security guy said he was told 12pm for sale which really confused me. Both were wrong. There was a cluster of people and O2 did really badly on this part. There were about 9 booths and nobody had a clue which ones would open. They should've put up a sign saying Coldplay tickets 9:30am Booths 7,8,9 etc. 9:30 hits and it's a complete free-for-all. One opened and everyone crammed in then a second and i saw one window flicker went i rushed but didn't open so to the back i went. We were told it was a maximum of 4 tickets, then that we needed photo ID. The communication was really bad. After that we were told no ID for 1-3 tickets then ID for 4 or more. I am not being classist here, but the wait was horrible. It was basically all chav's. What really wasn't nice was when we were in the bundle and a lot of them started smoking. As a non-smoker it was horrid. Anyway! Most of them were touts, you could tell. My main point is, what happened i feel is that O2 allocated the less desirable seats to the agencies keeping all the best seats for it's own box office. I got 4 tickets at 10:50. I got Block A1 Row H which is the block right infront of the stage, eight rows back. I realise i am extremely lucky. I don't know what the situation is now but the best tickets were actually available from the O2 in-person box-office. Not over the phone becuase the O2 phone line is ticketmaster. I feel geniunely sorry for those who got worse tickets or those buying off these idiots. You could tell they were angry when the news about photo ID happened. Also when i finally got mine an hour and a half later the ticket lady commented i was the first 'real fan' she'd served saying she could tell they were all touts. If this confirms anything it's in future if you can make your way to the actual box office of the 02. Coldplayed Block A1

Listening Live NOW!!! Come in an join the party!!!
Did anyone listen on BBC6 Music? George Lamb is a twat! He pretty much had the world exclusive premiere of the new Coldplay song. Something we've been waiting 3/4 years for, one of the biggest bands in the world. So what does he do? Plays a comedy noise during it? And then at the end says to his co-host, 'what was your favourite bit' 'mine was the bit when i played the comedy noise in the middle'. Talk about disrespect. Luckily it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the song.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
Yeah it's great that he told me the truth. I'm sure we all can't contain our excitment about hearing the song today it should be a good one.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
Shine A Light seems to be popular with the musicians, we had Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkey's in to see it the other day. To the person who asked for the Jonny story. If you don't know it Habitat is a furniture and home shop in England and Europe and i worked in the flagship on Tottenham Court Road. It was a haven for celebrities and especially indie musicians. I have served Bjork, Michelle from the Magic Numbers. Tim Rice-Oxley and the drummer from Keane. Dougie from Travis, Imogen Heap, Robert Plant. There are loads of others including actors which makes working a crappy retail job all that bit easier. Jonny came in twice when i worked there. He came in and i didn't see him, a friend who is now my girlfriend called me down and i was shaking. Anyway he always comes in with his other half, second time he came in he had a really dodgey tash. Anyway i asked him about (what was then) going to be the live in toronto DVD but he told me it was only going to be the tv special. He was also very nice and personalized my autograph.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
Well it's funny because the first time i was in close contact with Chris i couldn't speak (whole other story involving getting into a soundcheck) but this time i knew i had to speak to him. I was working at the bar and these three people came up and in my head i just went shit! It's Chris Martin. I then denounced it as i had just seen the Chris in the new Kanye West video with short hair and the guy had longer hair. I looked again and i just knew it was Chris. I got very excited, i knew i would be the only excited one because a lot of people in the cinema are proper indie kids and too cool for school but i didn't care. I quickly rushed over to the auditorium entrance where the other bloke was buying water he then came over and i ripped their tickets and he said thank you very much. I considered going up during the adverts but thought it would be rude. So i had to wait almost two hours waiting to meet Chris knowing he was in the auditorium. I did cover somebody in there for half an hour (hence how i know he had his hood up). When the film got on to it's last couple of songs. I though as he's Chris Martin he may leave early to avoid people but he didn't. However as soon as 'directed by Martin Scorsese' came up he was straight out of his seat first and came to the back. I had my ticket and pen ready and the conversation went like this, cannot be 100% as i was in so much awe: Me: Hello Chris sorry to bother you do you mind if i could get an autograph? Chris: Yeah! Of course, what's your name? Me: Max (Chris signs autograph as you see in the attachment) Me: Did you enjoy the film? Chris: Yeah it was good! Me: (handed back autograph)Thank you, i'm really looking forward to Viva la Vida, is it ok to ask what the first single is going to be? Chris: Well thats yet to be decided we've got to talk about that with the company but we have a track called Violet Hill coming out as a download only in about three weeks Me: Ahh Violet Hill thats like second or third last on the album isn't it? Chris: (smiling as i know that) Yeah well we've got the secret track the escapist aswell Then Chris's other party turn up. Chris: Well nice to meet you Max, see you soon Me: Bye Chris starts walking off and singing a stones song and comments on how loud the film was played at Me: (bumping in again) Yeah it is loud. We've measured the decibles(sp?) and it too loud for prolonged hearing which is annoying as we have to sit in there all day! Chris: Yeah it was too loud! Well see you later? It was brilliant. The autograph went straight into my locker and i will be framing it. Funny though because Jonny personalized my autograph also it's great. So whether what he told me happens it was great to meet the guy who fronts a band who've played a very important role in my life.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
I know it's weird because i've been a Coldplay from 13 years old (i'm now 21, 22 in June) and you want to express the joy of their music over all those years though you know really you've got time for one question, and suddenly just before meeting him what is gonna be the first viva la vida single going to be. He clocked me as a big fan when i knew Violet Hill was third from last on the album lol.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
I know this is a really obvious thing to say but he was really really nice and was like "nice to meet you max" and everything. He is very personal though his band have millions of fans. It's funny by the comment i made i didn't want to stir things up i just said what Chris said to me lol. I'm sure there are plenty of conversations between band/record label/management and stuff and things like this get changed etc. It was great meeting him though, i've already met Jonny (when i worked in Habitat tottenham court road) so it's two down, two to go lol.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
It seems that with the news of the NME vinyl the download only went out the window (thanks Chris) however the three weeks bit was correct for the vinyl, does seem odd that the 7" news isn't on nme.com though. I'm sure the XFM news will be something like a very small intimate gig somewhere in London town.

Violet Hill To Be Released As 'Download Only' In Three Weeks Time
Hello guys, Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this post but i've been away from a scanning machine. I see there is more news about 'Violet Hill' on the website now. Anyway i am the Max who met Chris at the cinema and i just thought i would post the autograph so you can believe this conversation did happen. If it turns out it doesn't come out in three weeks i'm sorry but Chris definitely said download only to me. Anyway attached is the lovely autograph he signed for me on an unused ticket.
