I came back to the conclusion that time doesn't exist... duh! just thinking about time travels... Gotta ask my physics teacher what he thinks of that.

@Iris Bogotá también es una gran y bonita ciudad (8 millones de habitantes), obviamente no es tan conocida y apreciada como Barcelona y otras grandes ciudades europeas pero durante todo el año hay muchas actividades culturales y de dispersión que cada vez son más famosas en todo el mundo... De hecho estos días se lleva a cabo un festival de cine y teatro internacional donde participan muchas compañías europeas y latinoaméricanas. También hace poco la ciudad recibió el título de capital del libro ganándole a otras ciudades como Berna y Berlín. Todo eso sin negar el subdesarrollo del resto del país. En serio, acá como en prácticamente toda suramérica la desigualdad es abismal... el problema de la guerra interna lo empeora todo aquí. :thinking: Acerca de la cuántica... estoy viendo un curso que se llama Química Teórica II donde empezamos a abordar el tema y a decir verdad he oído que han habido muchas quejas al respecto del curso debido a que es muy avanzado para estudiantes de 2ndo semestre. Nuestro texto guía está repleto de ecuaciones y diagramas atómicos. :confused: Todo muy complejo... al parecer nos tocará ver todo eso. Sobre la orgánica... sabes que no he visto nada pero por lo poco que sé también se me hace muy interesante, los compuestos aromáticos etc... Igual con la inorgánica. Bueno, yo me refería más es a la autonomía que algunos quieren para Catalunya... crees que Catalunya debería separarse del resto de España para convertirse en una nación autónoma? Lo pregunto es porque veo mucho en las noticias la polémica al respecto y sé de algunos pocos que quieren la independencia de Catalunya así que quería saber qué pensaban los catalanes al respecto.

Btw, if you mean that seeing the atom was something unnimaginable in other times, well I know but is just that TIME is a higher concept, more metaphysical. I'd even dare to say an invention of human mind... Same with the 4th dimension... there's just no empirical proof of it. It's all based in calcles. Btw, I'm Charles!

There are natural impossible things for nature. It's impossible to create or destroy matter and energy. At least in this known universe that is all for us.

@Crystal: Well, the forces are something science already can manipulate, BUT TIME... does time really exist so we can travel through it? What do you mean? :thinking:

It actually seems impossible- does the time really exist? makes me think a lot about the guy in the thread saying time doesn't exist.

Not trying to get very philosophical, just a brief question... do you think they might be possible? I doubt it. That's like the limit for a human mind. :thinking:

Bueno, de todos modos Barcelona es una de las ciudades más bonitas del mundo. :D Madrid y Bilbao también. Me gustaría visitarlas algún día. No, no la he visto... pero estoy por verla! lo que vimos el 1er semestre fue más una introducción a la termoquímica con énfasis en la 1era ley (Entalpía) estudiamos entalpía de reacciones... etc. Este semestre ya veremos la termodinámica más completa y en la fisicoquímica mucho más! Lo que más me gusta_? :) Bueno diría que todo- al estudiar cinética y termodinámica este semestre estamos entendiendo cómo y porqué se da una reacción química, lo cual es muyy interesante. También me llama mucho la atención el estudio del átomo (Cuántica), aunque es como muy complejoo. También la química ambiental, la bioquímica...etc. Todavía tengo varios años para ver otras cosas y decidirme en qué me gustaría especializarme. :lol: ¿y a ti que te gusta? Cambiando un poco de tema, siendo tú catalana, que piensas de Statut y la autonomía de Catalunya?

It is true... anyway about your previous comment: You can deny racism its a huge problem, specially in your country where there are many minorities and you see how their quality of life, even of those who are actually American, not inmigrants (such as afroamericans) is really bad compared with the white's.

WOW I've also thought that many times before! when I hear about Einstein time-space theories I get to think that time isn't a part of universe, just a creation of human mind to give an order to our lifes, an order to the universe. Anyway it is a necessary concept for science to explain our reality so it basically exists for our understanding... As if nobody would be able to perceive, see, smell or hear things... they wouldn't exist for us, I mean the universe is anything and everything but what we have in our brains. What we understand so if time is a part of our understand it, time is definitely a part of the universe.

Hola Iris :) Sí, entiendo el efecto, las moléculas de H2O al igual que el CO2 y el CH4 absorben y mantienen la parte infrarroja del espectro calentando la superficie... es por eso que en los desiertos que son muy secos llega a hacer mucho frío en las noches. Me sorprende que el clima de España sea tan variado, en el norte los veranos e inviernos son relativamente suaves, en el centro los inviernos bastante fríos y los veranos muy calurosos (en Madrid casi se llega a los 40°c :o ) y en el mediterráneo donde está Barcelona tanto el verano como el invierno son mucho más moderados. Lo mismo con las precipitaciones que en varias partes son escasas mientras en otras abundan. Así es, lo de la presión de vapor y diagrama de fases lo ví en el primer semestre. Siendo más exactos a 2600 metros donde estoy hay una presión de 560 mm de Hg, el agua hierve a 91,5°c y se congela a 0,01°c. Lo de la energía de Gibbs no lo hemos visto, vimos en el 1er semestre algo muy general de termoquímica. De hecho ayer empezamos a entrar a fondo con la termodinámica. :lol:
