  1. ...to the point that the recorded version sounds almost incongruous or just inferior? Its a difficult question to phrase in a way. And I kind of feel that this is a bit of a loaded question as a band that is as good as Coldplay is live will always be able to inject a certain passion and energy through the crowd that, ipso facto, isn't there with studio recordings. I'll shoot first: Paradise (the transition from the piano to the guitar and other electrical accompaniments live physically makes the hairs on my arms stand); Hurts Like Heaven (studio version sounds too electronicy for my liking, like something from the 80s).
  2. Haha i just clicked the link. Slipknot 4eva dude:drummer: :guitarist:
  3. I personally wouldn't favour an unequivocal metal or even hard sounding album, but that's just me. Each album has its own unique creative energy; one of the strengths of the band. I don't think I can say the creative direction has been lacking at all. For me 'Atlas' is a sign of good things to come as well.
  4. Welcome, i'm a newb as well. I was also converted after 'X&Y'.
  5. I reside in South Korea. Firstly I don't believe that Coldplay have ever performed in Korea (though i may be wrong). However, this is extremely common for big acts from the UK, US etc as many record companies refuse outright for a number of reasons (Korea has a notoriously poor track record in adhering to intellectual property rights; observation of international copyright law is also poor; net sales of music (historically speaking) tend to be very low; Korea's lax laws in respect to all of the aforementioned are said to simply encourage such crimes. Were any imagery to do with LIJ to include the Japanese imperial flag or any other aspect, it would cause an uproar in Korea, if it wasn't omitted before hand that is. Many Koreans equate Imperial Japan with Nazi Germany.
  6. Nice to meet you all. Coldplay fan from London, England. Not really sure what to say here. I've been in love with the group since 'X&Y' (which I think is the best album of the century) and I really think they are one of the few outstanding acts to come out of the 21st century. Though I am a big Coldplay fan, in terms of knowledge and 'props' (right word?) I am probably more in the lower leagues; I still haven't seen them live (embarrassing, i know)!! All the best, im going to get back to Atlas and make a cup of tea
