  1. I made a post earlier in this thread explaining the songwriting split for each album era. During the AROBTTH era the songwriting royalties were split equally, it was on X&Y era onwards that Chris started getting a larger percentage. It's not uncommon, especially if Chris is the one doing most of the songwriting.
  2. Still not sure. In my own personal opinion though I think the theory that Xyloto relating to cameras and the theme of Big Brother etc could be right just due to the themes in the lyrics and going on what Chris has said before. Maybe Mylo Xyloto means something in a different language?
  3. "There are still various contenders for album title" I suppose Mylo Xyloto could be one of those, Debs never dismissed that. Mylo Xyloto is a song title they've registered, 'Mnemonics and Murals' however is just a theory. The facebook page seems a bit unofficial and the demo this guy posts up (if he posts anything) might end up just being one of the leaked demos from VLV sessions or from a bootleg.
  4. My guess is that Coldplay probably won't use it. It will likely appear on Faith Hill's next album. I imagine the song has a country feel to it.
  5. Yeah, you just register the individual songs with PRS, so Mylo Xyloto is a song. Could end up being the album title who knows...
  6. Here's some of the song titles I came across (that have never been released by Coldplay, or played live to my knowledge) : NOTE : Some songs use samples of Coldplay songs, others are just songs Chris has co-written with other people. Before anyone asks it's definetly Chris Martin from Coldplay (registered as Christopher Anthony John Martin) I know this because there's only one Christopher Anthony John Martin registered with PRS. I'll write 'Chris Martin' for short - 'Better Days' - Registered : 3rd June 2003 Written by all members of Coldplay (Plus Curtis Richardson, Dwight Palmer, Linden Williams). 7. I guess it's fair. It's just each song is different, seems to me like they've sat around and debated "I made up that part" etc because it's down to the last point, which I can understand but seems to defeat the music/creativity group side of things. Each Radiohead song has a different split. Same with U2.
  8. That might just be the agreed split amoungst all material. It's not uncommon. In my band the PRS is split equally (even though I write all the songs) even if the song is played on acoustic guitar and no other members are involved they'll still get the same royalty as me, just because we've all came to that agreement. Each band is different though, you should see Radioheads royalty split lol.
  9. When new songs are registered with PRS it can take a few weeks for ammendments to be made (i.e Universal to register themselves with the song). PRS gets back-dated so Universal still get their money wither they register today or when the album comes out), I imagine the ammendments will be made soon though.
  10. Yeah sure, there's quite a few songs registered that haven't been released (some of them where registered as far back as 2001). Others are songs Chris has co-written with other people.
  11. It's not the songwriting contribution, it's the royalty share, which is why Universal Music Publishing get 50%.
  12. I put screen shots of Mylo Xyloto and Up With The Birds earlier in this thread, I deleted them (because I'm not sure wither that goes against the terms and conditions of the PRS website so I don't want to lose my membership over this). Some people quoted my post so you might still find the screen shot (I think round pages 4-6 of this thread). And yeah the royalties thing surprised me too. I've checked loads of Coldplay songs, the sketch with that is : (Keep in mind the publishing company usually gets 50% of all songwriting royalties (this is the case with pretty much every major publishing contract in Britian) Parachutes and AROBTTH era royalty split : Chris - 12.50% Johnny - 12.50% Guy - 12.50% Will - 12.50% X&Y + VLVODAAHF era royalty split : Chris - 20.00% Johnny - 10.00% Guy - 10.00% Will - 10.00% I guess it's only fair if Chris is doing the majority of the writing to get a bit more. With this album it's getting a bit more complicated, especially now that Brian Eno is envolved in the writing (he also has a seperate publishing company from Coldplay so a small percentage goes to that.
  13. Ah sorry, it's from the Itunes Festival http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/7/screenshot20110722at223.png/
  14. My computer, I took a screen shot.
  15. I'm just a bit paranoid incase I'm going against the terms and conditions of the PRS website, in which case if I was to lose my membership that would really mess things up for me as a songwriter. Better to be safe than sorry.
  16. Ok, I'll delete the posts I've put up linking pictures to the song infos just incase I do get into trouble (for leaking the possible album title). It was just to prove to you guys though.
  17. I don't think so, any member can access the PRS database. It's open to any songwriter / musician to join.
  18. Thanks, just uploading at the moment...
  19. Cool thanks, I've got the screen shot, how do I upload it? Do I need to paste it into a software programme (like Microsoft Word) before I upload it?
