Still haven't a clue. I've been googling for the past half hour. Apparently the pre-fix 'xylo' means something relating to wood??? Maybe they've just invented the words themselves though, can't imagine them singing songs about wood lol, although ETIAW has the line 'maybe the trees are gone'. I remember hearing they were masterminding 'a brave new direction' and I guess it would be pretty brave to invent new words and call the album that.

'Up With The Birds' has also been registered and Leonard Cohen is listen as one of the co-writers. Apparently the song contains 'samples' but it doesn't state where the samples are from. Might be a Leonard Cohen song. I think this could be the next single as well, it's the only song they've registered the length of (apart from ETIAW) and it's 3.30 - perfect radio time.

I'm a member of PRS and (as a member) you can search their online database of registered songs. I typed in Chris Martin and looked at all the newly registered work under 'Christopher Anthony John Martin' and a song called 'Mylo Xyloto' was registered on 6th July 2011!!! The writers registered for the song are all of Coldplay and Brian Eno. Wither they actually call the album Mylo Xyloto or not or that might be the lead single (maybe released on October 10th because the first letters of each word being MX).

I remember when Viva came out, it sounded so different from everything Coldplay had done before but I love the album. As with all Coldplay albums, I'm really open minded about music and like all sorts so chances are I'll like this one. Even the sound of the bassline to ETIAW excites me, can't wait to hear the full track :) Also just wondering about possible second single release (later in the summer) being 'Princess Of China' :)

Also look at the bottom right corner above the graffitied word 'UFO' (Which by the way, there's alot of 'UFO' graffiti) it says 'monday'.

Who knows, Coldplay could have changed the title of the album since Chris said it would begin with an 'M' and we could just be chasing tails.

The second word could be anything though, doesn't have to begin with an 'M'.

They've changed the format of releases in the music industry. They don't start doing most promo stuff till after things are released now (well singles that is). Instead of a few years ago it was single then two weeks later album.

All members of Coldplay are in the writing credits, that's why I thought it might of been a Coldplay song. Then again, all members of Coldplay are present on the credits for 'Fun' and 'Lukas' by Natilie Imbruglia so maybe 'Shooting Star' is another song Coldplay gave to someone else.

So many unanswered questions... If the new title's Mnemonic Murals then why have 'MX' (unless the release date really is 10/10) and what's with the 'UFO'? Unless thats another mnemonic for a song.... M could also stand for Multicoloured as all the videos have been in multicolour.

Well, one of my favourite bands Hard-Fi have released their single 'Good For Nothing' and they've said their new album might not be released until the Autumn.

Sorry, I've been reading this thread at the same time. Apparently 'Shooting Star' was registered on 11th July 2001???? And there's another person under the name of 'Jun, ZH' on the writing credits.

I'm a member of PRS and there's an online database you can check for every writer in the UK. I checked it today for Chris Martin and there was a new addition (writing credits by all members of the band) a song called 'Shooting Star' and it says 'New Work'. I'll check again and post more info.

Infact the title could very well be Mnemonics and Murals because if you go to the coldplay official website and hover above where it says 'exhibition room' I used to think that was a crown but it could be two 'M's put together and that could be their new logo...

Personally I don't think the album will be called 'Mnemonics and Murals' I still think the initials will be M......... X....... and it'll be released on October 10th in UK. Even Oracle said the release date for the album has always been the same. My guess is they've had the title for a while and found out that the 10th day of the 10th month (due to MX in Roman numerals meaning 1010) is a Monday. Last year Chris said in an interview that he hoped the album would be out for Christmas 2010. I'm guessing an idea of release date was going to be 10/10/10 at that time, but obviously the album took longer than expected... In other news, I heard a new Coldplay song title today called 'Shooting Star' :D

I found out that there's a newspaper called MX in Australia, standing for 'Melbourne Express' so the second word could be 'Xpress' as they've messed around with spelling in the past (Politik, Prospekt's March). Also on the website has a newspaper.

I think (keeping in mind Chris said 'the album title might begin with 'M'. Two words." It could very well be 'Monday Morning'. I think thought that the second word will begin with 'X' though. The first word might be 'Multicoloured' (keeping in mind all the new video 'hints' have been in multicolour. Also what do people make of the 'UFO' thing?
