August 23, 200421 yr for saying for example that the window broke itself? We were discussing with one of my British teachers, about Responsabilities, and he told us that in here, Latin America, people wouldn't take responsabilities for their acts. Then, he said, for instance when something breaks, you say it break itself (we have a phrase here that means, ie, that the chair broke by its own, not that someone did it), and he said that didn't happen in english, as far as he knew. Is there a word or a phrase for those situations, when there's no one to blame, or no one wants to take the responsability, so the thinsg just 'break by themselves'?
August 23, 200421 yr Um... there's not a specific phrase for that, but "I didn't do it" usually works. :P
August 23, 200421 yr Author bah, that works here too! I have another question though!! what are MC's?
August 23, 200421 yr Master of Ceremonies. Old term from the vaudeville age, I think. The MC (sometimes spelled "emcee") was sort of the "host" who would introduce all the different acts and whatnot. Unless it's a different MC you're talking about.
August 23, 200421 yr Author Today's Poll: Why Are We So Much Better Than All the Other MC's? There. You tell me! ah, and suddenly another question crossed my head; are you a Mormon?
August 23, 200421 yr ohhhhhhh. In that context "MC" means rapper. The term has kind of changed in meaning since the 1920's. And no, I am not a Mormon.
August 23, 200421 yr Author aaaaawwwwwww, I still dont understand it, but anyway..... and don't get so unfriendly. I was just asking! (I'm reading the Book of Mormons and you and it are alike, according to me  ) and another question! If there weren't any rappers in the 190's, how was the term used? (rappers or rap?)
August 23, 200421 yr I wasn't being unfriendly just because I didn't use a smilie. :P Why do you think I'm similar to mormons? And the term used to be used like I described in the first post. They were sort of the host of an event or show or something.
August 23, 200421 yr Author I didn't say it because of that; you were just so cutting, If that's the right word. I thought you were a mormon because of the way I see you. Like, apart from the usual, they believe something that for my point of view, is unsustainable. It just doesn't have a support, but still they believe it -not because of me they shouldn't-, and they've found ways to explain it, and they are so convinced and proud of what they are doing. Me thinks you are the same, or quite like it, apart from the usual, as I said.
August 23, 200421 yr (I'm reading the Book of Mormons and you and it are alike, according to me ) it's not plural
August 23, 200421 yr they believe something that for my point of view, is unsustainable it's called faith sternly :idea2:
August 23, 200421 yr (I'm reading the Book of Mormons and you and it are alike, according to me ) what do they have in common?

Me thinks you are the same, or quite like it, apart from the usual, as I said. There is no shame in believing in something that not everyone agrees with, we are all different with different oppinions, we dont have to explain ourselves to anyone and if people dont understand our beliefs and think that this is a problem then thats their problem and not ours.

August 23, 200421 yr going back to the first question, if something happens by 'itself' and there is no blame, maybe you could say it was an accident therefore leaving no one to blame because accidents are just accidents :idea2: i hope that's what you mean
