Have you written a screenplay for an assignment or a spec script (script written with the sole intention of selling it to a producer/studio)? Have you ever had your script purchased and turned into a play/movie/documentary/etc.?

 

I've had an idea for a book and screenplay for about a year now. I want to write it, sell it, and then possibly add my insight as to how exactly I'd like the movie shot and cast if I'm allowed to do so within the contract. I know it would probably be smarter just to make my own movie to have more control, but I don't have the resources or money.

 

I know I need an agent just to approach a studio with a script, but I don't think I have the money to pay an agent. If anybody went to film school or knows the movie industry and wants to enlighten me ANY knowledge on the subject of scripts and filmmaking, please do so!
