  1. All I can picture when listening to this is Chris singing to himself whilst sitting in a rocking chair on the side of a Louisiana bayou. Is that weird?
  2. Studio - the piano and drums take it to a whole new level.
  3. Nope...LIT album version is just as we've all heard it. No lyrics. The Escapist at the end of the album is the first portion of Life In Technicolor but with Chris singing a short chorus a few times. I was expecting a little more out of The Escapist, but I'll let you be the judge.
  4. I actually like it, I think it's the best split track of the 3 on the album.
  5. Ah, I counted them both as one song because I felt the Escapists can be viewed as an outro rather than a 2nd song. Either way, both portions of the song were a bit light on "oomph" as the album comes to a close. They don't really go well together either IMO. I think Lovers In Japan is the best song on the album. Can't wait to see that played live.
  6. I will always buy a physical copy of a new Coldplay album no matter what.
  7. Chris: "Hey guys, are you ready to record this awesome song Strawberry Swing?" Jonny: "Heck yeah Chris, I'm so ready to get my guitar on...I can't wait, let's do this!" Will: "I will hit the drums with all of my might." Guy: "Hey Chris, has Moses learned to count yet?" Chris: "Yeah Guy, he can count to 4 now." Will: "Speaking of counting, let's start this song already. 1, 2, 3, 4...." Jonny: *whispering* "Chris, be honest...what are your thoughts on Gwen's upper half? Good size for you?" Chris: "It's a bit flat."
  8. After listening to the full album a few times through... 3 Worst: 42...the lyrics were way too repetitive for me to even appreciate this song. Chinese Sleep Chant...I didn't quite understand the purpose of this track. Not only can you not hear Chris sing, it's got a weird vibe to it. The only decent part was Jonny making the guitar whine. Death & All His Friends/Escapist...very weak effort to wrap up the album. All in all, not what I expected with the hopes that an album should go out with a bang. They ripped off Death Cab trying to loop the final track and starting track together to make it sound like one continuous repeating album (Transatlanticism anyone?) 3 Best: Strawberry Swing...loved the folk blues sound to this track. Sounds very different but in a good way. Lovers In Japan...Hard piano and drum support here, great tempo throughout the song. Crisp sound, very uplifting intro and finish Viva La Vida...No matter how many times I hear it, it is simply a great piece of music. Awesome orchestral support (some may call it commercial but it's well done). This song's lyrics actually paint a picture in my mind, they're pretty effective. Tempo and chorus are spot on. I feel like this album actually has more weak spots than X&Y. The 2nd portion of the split tracks actually weakened the listening experience for me. Nice effort in taking on new sounds and styles, but I felt like they should have recorded 3 quality full-length tracks rather than Reign Of Love, Chinese Sleep Chant, and The Escapist. I'll give it a 7/10 overall. 1. Rush Of Blood 2. Parachutes 3. X&Y 4. Viva La Vida

  10. No offense, but the lyrics on 42 need some help... The start of Lovers In Japan is great.
  11. Sounds good so far...3 songs in. 42 is up next.
  12. PS: Coldplay perform on Wednesday night (or technically Thursday EARLY morning). Just looked on Comcast TV listings for tomorrow. The show airs on ABC, from 12:05 AM - 1:05 AM
  13. For some reason Chinese Sleep Chant sounds like it should have been a b-side. That's all I can think of when I hear it. Hopefully the other tracks we haven't heard yet can make up for this weak spot.
  14. Secret track is Life In Technicolor w/lyrics? Ohhh the suspense!!
  15. Believe it or not, the majority of America disagrees with the current White House affairs. This doesn't kill Coldplay's credibility, it actually gives Americans something to relate to...and not just Americans, but anyone from a country with a corrupt political system. Takes guts to put videos like this together and release them to the world.
