My Review for Nassau Last night - 3-27-06

Featured Replies

This was the second time I saw Coldplay live and again the band did not disappoint. I sat front row (Row A – seat 8) off to the right and as the night went on, I managed to get closer.

One glitch...I whipped out my camera only to find I didn't take my memory card... AHHHHGGG!!!!!!! Oh well...

What a great performance both set list and energy. Chris has the energy of a 16 year old with running, jumping, laughing, and diving (with no fear) on the big yellow balloons until they popped!

The set list was pretty much the same as the night before. For me, the highlights were “What If”, “Trouble”, “Fix You”, and “Clocks”. Although I enjoyed all of the songs, I was hoping they would play “How You See The World” (which was on the set list) but they didn’t. After the show was over, one of the security guards from the band handed me the actual set list which was very cool.

Quick story: I used to work at Nassau Coliseum so I knew all of the security guards and ushers there. After the show, one of the guards took me and my wife back stage to see my old boss who I haven’t seen in over 8 years. As we hugged, and were talking, this tall, HUGE girl came in with the Coldplay pass around her neck and she rudely interrupted our conversation by opening her shirt a little and putting his tie on her opened shirt. This ignorant stalk of broccoli proceeded to say” Chicks who wear ties are hot.” Then she looked at me and goes “who the hell are you??” so I respectfully explained that I was just here to say a quick hello to my old boss and that I wasn’t there to bother anyone. She then goes “yeh yeh yeh, no pass, get out!”

I was blown away on how rude, mean and disrespectful she was to not just myself, but to my wife as well. She was security for the band (obviously) and she escorted us to the door. We were treated like a red headed step child or the ugly girl at the dance. It was just wrong on every level. I know the band needs tight security, and that is great but there are ways to treat people. Especially fans. She even asked me “are you with the show?” I wanted to say “yeah, I’m Chris Martin I just changed my shirt and dyed my hair brown...” I felt sort of like crap after that…

But, my wife then suggested we hit Wendy’s on the way home and everything seemed to a lot better after a spicy chicken sandwich!

GREAT SHOW! Thanks again guys for a great tour and for playing “Trouble”!!

That’s all for me!

Nice review, Frank. That is great luck that you were able to move closer, even with a front row seat. Too bad about the memory card!

Very rude of that woman. Hopefully she had nothing to do with the band. What a bitch!

And I love Wendy's too. Spicy chicken sandwiches are the best!

Thanks for the great review! Sounds like you had a great time and had an amazing view! :)

So sorry to hear about the rude security....incidents like this seems to be becoming more frequent  and it's such a shame...

But glad to hear you enjoyed the show;)

The bands personal bodyguards are two guys called Geoff and Kelly, so I don't think she can be anything directly to do with the boys.

I don't think she was a personal body guard since she was hanging out in the Ushers room when I got booted. She was really mean and just disrespectful to us. I even said "I'm not looking from the band, I am just saying hello to my boss as I used to work here" She was like "Yeh, i don't care, let's go..."

Even when I worked there, and if I saw a fan or anyone who shouldnt be where they werent supposed to, i'd be nice about it. She was just a B*&ch....

Oh well... I made my wife laugh the whole ride home as I called her funny names like "we got thrown out of Coldplay by the worlds biggest stalk of broccoli".

This has no reflection of how I feel about the band. They were perfect and the show was awsome! And all of the security guards at teh Colisium were awsome as well. Cool people...

Your cell phone pics were really cool. And that's it - next time I see Coldplay, I've gotta have floor seats as close to the stage as possible. It looks absolutely amazing to be that close.
