Chris Martin Communicates with a Wolf
Funny. :) I never thought of that as "howling" before, but it does sound something like it.

2007 Calendar
I ended up receiving this for Christmas, I think it's pretty good. I only flipped through it once, I don't recall seeing an overabundance of Chris pics, but I do remember a lot of individual pics. I would have liked more pics of the band as a whole, but oh well, that's up to the powers that be.

Song before Coldplay come onstage?
At the concert I was at they used Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles (amazing!), and Goodnight at the end, also a Beatles song. :)

Gwyneth...
I just have to vent this and I figure this thread is as good a place as any to do it. I'm a member of another forum online, and one of their random threads is "Overrated Celebs". Well, someone brought up Gwyneth's name and was totally going off on how snooty she is and how she's constantly acting like she's better than everyone else. Tons of people are backing this person up, saying they couldn't agree more. I'll probably post a response if only to simply state I disagree (I don't feel like getting in an argument would be productive at all). Anyway, I think that she can come off that way if you don't take the time to listen to what she is saying. I think she seems down to earth, and says what she believes in, which can make a lot of people mad. It just ticked me off cause I think she is a genuinely nice person, and I was surprised that so many people were stepping forward to say how much they can't stand her. I mean really, there are much more deserving people for the title of "overrated celeb" IMO. *ahem* Paris Hilton...

Cool, thanks for the info. :) Fortunately, this calendar will be for decoration...I use my desk one @ work for writing stuff down.

2007 Calendar
I am wondering if any of you have already bought this calendar, or if you've purchased Coldplay calendars in the past. I'm curious as to what kind of pictures are included - concert, studio, candid, etc? I'm only able to find a front cover pic of the new calendar...thanks!

Chris' acoustic guitars
I know he used a Martin acoustic at one point, which IMO, is the best quality acoustic out there. Pricey for sure, but worth it. I myself don't own one (yet)...I have an AJ model Epiphone.

The 6/8 Time Appreciation Thread.
I like playing music with 6 beats per measure...come to think of it I enjoy 9 & 12 beat songs too. I'm usually not the best at picking up rythms right away, so I use a trick my piano teacher taught me - I try to "speak" the words of the music in time before I play them. It helps a lot when you have an idea of how the beats go before you dive in and try to play them.

It pisses me off how Chris disses Parachutes
You've also got to remember that sometimes people say things b/c they are feeling one way or another, and feelings change. John Lennon was famous for "dissing" his Beatles work, calling it crap. But most of his negative comments were made when he was going through a rough time in his own life, towards the end of his much too short life his outlook had changed and he was able to look back at some of that music with good feelings. I never hear too many artists say they enjoy listening to their own music either...

[18/09/2006] Chris Martin At Abbey Road To See U2
This pics are awesome! Thank you! I can't believe Chris was there visiting U2...it's almost too much for my brain to comprehend. Now, if Paul McCartney was there with all of them (which could have been possible since he lives really close) that would be over the top amazing!

Chris Martin has dinner with Bono and Paul McCartney
I've been hearing rumors that Paul McCartney and Blythe Danner should get together. I wouldn't mind that at all, I think Blythe would be a good fit for Paul. Hmm, wonder if that topic came up at dinner? ;)

Question about "Talk" Live...
When I first saw the bear footage at the concert, I was afraid they were going to show it being shot or abused. (to raise awareness for animal rights) Paul McCartney's 1990 tour showed some animal abuse footage to go along with his new album, which also focused on animal rights. All I could think was "oh no, it's going to be just like that concert again!" P.S. I am an animal lover and think that animal rights is a wonderful cause, I just don't enjoy seeing footage of animals being hurt. I read something terrible in the news about a month ago, it said that in China there had been an outbreak of rabies I think it was, so these groups of Chinese authorities went around clubbing dogs to death, sometimes taking them from their owners as they were being walked. That's horrible. :(
