This is getting on my nerves!

Featured Replies

So.......I was sitting in the living-room this evening with my parents and my 10 year old sister....

we were talking about boys and love somehow......my sister said (of course) that all boys are stupid etc....

So my dad said:"haha.....write me a note with that and in 5 years I'll show you this,we'll see if you still think like that then....but probably I'll take out the sheet then and you sit here with your boyfriend!"

Then my mum said:" Haha.....good joke...I think the day when she will sit here with her boyfriend we will already be dead!Look at the other two (me and my sister who is 22),,.....have they ever been sitting here with their boyfriends?".No..because we never had a boyfriend......grr....I hate that...she often uses to say things like that...it's getting on my nerves....surely she wants to see one of her daughters with a bf....

but for me it's difficult to find one.....

and then she said:"Man.....I think we have to bake first a boyfriend for you...otherwise you will never have one.....you seem never to be satisfied with what you can get!"

Damn....this is not true....I've never said this....just because I don't take what I get.....man.....

In the end my dad was asking me about things my perfect boyfriend should have.....

great.....

I think that's normal Julia... I don't see a big deal with that... that just means you're parents care about you... I can also tell you that with latin families (portuguese in my case) are even worse...

Maybe it's normal...but it's getting on my nerves.....my mum think things which are not even true....

still... normal... they see you alone, they're worried... then they start supposing things, most of them not true... I went through that...

Hehe........Miguel...I'm always glad to have you here...because you are one of those persons who already has experienced this!

Parents are weird sometimes, they ask us some questions we never thought they will ask us.

But they concern is about how are we dealing with our love issues.

I feel a little weird when my parents ask me about girls,I know why they are asking, but sometimes is a little weird.

  • Author

It's also weird for me of course.....I don't want to tell them why I can't find someonw etc....no...

eheheh!!!!! I'm old!!!!

you want one more... my mom used to say: "you going to end up marrying some swiss, german french girl or whatever and I won't understand her"... so funny...

  • Author

^I didn't want to say that you are old!:nice:

the thing your mum said.....ohohoh....

Well this story have another nice side, and is when you are finally in love with someone and the parents support yon

Maybe it's normal...but it's getting on my nerves.....my mum think things which are not even true....

well, if you feel sad about it, you cna talk to her and tell the truth... dont u think about it?? maybe not telling all the truth but sometime we need talk, she will understand you....

  • Author

^sure....and I hope/think it will be like that....

But somehow.....all this seems show me that they somehow don't believe in me.....I know they do...but it sounds like that when they say things like that....

So...I need to find a bf to show them the opposite...

the thing your mum said.....ohohoh....

I know you didn't say I'm old... I just am... ;)

anyway, I think you have to convince your parents that the fact that you don't have a boyfriend is your choice and your cool with it (even if it's not true)... it should calm them down...

  • Author

Actually I think they are convinced about it.....maybe just a bit sad because other girls have one...and I don't.....

my dad sees the things cooler...he uses to make fun of it.....and then he "chooses" people from my area for me...(which are always the weirdest.....but he knows that...just wants to make fun)....

my mum uses to compare me to her sister who is about 40 and not married or in a relationship....she says we will "end" like her....she is too ambitious in case of men....and she says we are also....haha....

Well....actually I told her that the things she thinks about me are not true...

weell its the beginingg! hehe!

:)

funny... I think 40 is still ok to get married... a bit late for kids though...

Just because all the people have a couple when they are young, does not mean that people who don't have a date are anormal.

  • Author

^hehe....but my mum doesn't believe in that anymore...my aunt had some men.....but they all didn't seem to be good enough for her...

I know that....and I don't think so.....my mum sometimes gives the impression that she thinks they a anormal!

I am sure when you start dating and dating she would be more worry about.

  • Author

^

This is possible.....maybe she is also worried because I never was a person who had many dates,.....or who had even dates.....I never had one...

You talk like you were old and you are only 18 years old!!

Give a little time to the time!

Relax!
