Just watched Coldplay Live in Hong Kong

Featured Replies

Can't believe big group like Coldplay coming to Hong Kong. What a wonderful evening!! Chris just performed fantastic!! The concert last for about 1 hour 20minutes. I am sure everyone were enjoying the show!! This must be the best concert I'd seen in Hong Kong. However, the concert was almost 1 hour late to begin.

wow, that must have been amazing! i which i had have want ..but i live in canada so it was too far away!

BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY FOREIGNERS,,,

I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE MORE LOCAL FANS..

but block A has many foreigners...about 50%

i think there are over 50% ppl were foreigners in the whole place.....

DISAPPOINTED

intentionally, I rush to those foreign longing for more great atmosphere

but they are cooler than me @.@

great show anyway,

hey, are you too in the block A, left side? cuz there is a girl right next to me singing along

Saw the boz last night in HK and they blew me away just as they did when I first saw them in March at Long Island, NY.

I was pleasantly surprised at the "energized" crowd and the sing-a-long as HK concert goers tend to be quite passive. As a matter of fact, crowd participation was just as good, if not better than the one in NY.

Why should you be disappointed? Just be happy that you went. What the racial mix up was of the crowd should not be a concern. The fact that there were not more local (Chinese I presume you to mean) is because there probably was no interest. But that didn't stop you from going. I think this is the wrong attitude.

yes

there were many ABC

but i think my fd and i were the most crazy people around us

(we are local chinese)

saw them in both Canada and HK, to be honest, they were a lot better in Canada.... they mustve had to battle with jetlag and all that... but i was front row dead center, so i cant complain.

I thought it was a good show too but the Arena sucks. My bf and I were at Block C row R last night but can hardly see the show after all ppl were coming out and standing on the seats. We stood up also but my view was totally blocked as i am quite petite. For $580 + $10 handling I expect to have a clearer view of the stage. at least not just a few glimpses of Chris Martin. I wish I knew that earlier and chose Balcony instead. I didn't expect just to "listen" Coldplay singing live, I could do that w/ a better view w/ a DVD.

And I could hardly breath when people around us started smoking to kill their boredom (their view was blocked as well). I know it's hard to control a crowd in situation like this but can the security check bags and asked people not to bring cigaretts inside next time? It's an air-conditioned stadium so when people smoke the smell is very strong. Just a little compromise, OK?

The showtime was normal as other foreign performers just I wish it'd be longer. At least sing more hits like "a Rush of Blood", "Shiver" or "Spies", etc...The visual effects was great and what a pity I did't caught Chris when he was running in the arena. Seems he's in a good mood to please the crowd. I was very moved when he sang "Yellow" and surprised w/ the big yellow ballons.

Let's just hope it will not happen again w/ Robbie in Nov.

the funniest thing is...

THOSE FOREIGNERS ARE EVEN COOLER THAN CHINESE XDDD

they just stand there and see ...

some even said, " Hey..don't sing loudly...u bother me a lot!"

my friend told me that one of the foreigners said that.....

We're intrested in Coldplay!

But there was no Coldplay albums selling in CD shop. They are just selling indraughted version (I don't know how to say that, sorry for my poor English).

Those who watched Coldplay live in HK,YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!!

Of course it is impossible to see on the floors in the 580 section - if you are 50 rows from the stage at the start of 580 section, you will not be able to see since everyone will stand on their chairs. Luckily I was third row on the side (580 as well), but Block 5. Had a great view and was over everyone's heads, so saw the whole show properly.

For Robbie Williams in Nov, it will happen again for sure. That is how concerts in HK are.

Yes, I was in Block C and there were more Chinese than foreigners! And the foreigners were really "cooler" than us.... Strange...:shocked2:

But Block C is quite far from the stage, luckily I have an aisle seat so it's better...

i am quite close from the stage therefore i take great pic.

but as u know..many ppl rush to the stage when the concert started,,,:embarassed: :embarassed:

many of my photos have HANDS in them becoz ppl standing next to the stage totally block my view!!!

The whole BLOCK A..few ppl singing along...

TOO BAD!!!

I BETTER BUY BLOCK C at the beginning in order to enjoy a greater atmosphere

NOT for local concerts...

this tradition only happened when "foreign singers " come to hong kong...

i hope that ppl can sit in their seats properly..

even they wave "glowing stick" is alright for me..

although it is a bit weird..

it is so much better than "STANDING NEXT TO THE STAGE" which block our view!

saw them in both @ Canada & HK too!!

And yes, totally agree with you, the one @ Canada is MUCH better!!!

Still love COLDPLAY to death, but honestly, I was a bit disappointed...wished the show is longer, there are still many good songs I wished they could have played.

Asia-World Expo is SOOOOOO far and inconvenient. The arena sucks! The lighting should reach the whole arena and not just up front, and the audio system were not that great... All the seatings on the floor were a waste of money. FYI, all the seating is not included from the fee of renting the venueFor concert like this, the organiser should know better than everyone that audience would rather standing. They should have organise standing tickets in stead, and that way can low down the budget and the tickets would be cheaper! (Just like how SCMP commented) http://hk.news.yahoo.com/060713/187/1q3dt.html

the show is totally amazing! i am so happy that i can see them in HK !!! there are a lot of foreigners last night but i think 40% of the audiences are chinese and it is good to see that. but i must say that the asia-world expo is very inconvenient for me coz it is far from the town and it takes me an hour to go back home. anyway, it is amazing for me to see that show and i'm glad that i went to see it.

I have 2 mins of Clocks video and 2 mins of Fix You video taken by my camera. But each are more than 200M, I have to find a way to compress it before uploading to youtube...

I think it is not allowed to take photos and videos in the concert?

Oh well, if Chris can break the law in a public bathroom in HK, so can I break the rule in their concert, right? :laugh3:

It was bad in balcony too!

I was blocked by the handrail and the man in front of me.

He must have got better view than I had,but we both paid $580 for the seat!

I totally agree with the others saying that the arena SUCKS!

I spent 2 hours to go back home:angry:

I think we HKers are spolied by the pop concert in HK, where we can seat comfortably without anyone blocking our view!

In most countries rock concerts, usually the audience have to stand in a football stadium with hundreds of rows of people in front! And probably they have to pay more and queue up for at least 10 hours!

So I'm already satisfied with the concert this time! Ok, I was in Block C, only 60 rows in front of me! :P

But they should make the stage higher, I think they haven't considered that the audience would stand on the chairs, and Chris was always sitting in front of the piano or lying on the stage singing! :laugh3:

And I agree that the transportation sucks!

many people complaint about the traffic.

the traffic system in hong kong is really convenient,

you can't find another city have such a well traffic system like HK.

I know it well as I studied transport.

if you know many people have to drive half of day for a concert

you'll think youre lucky

I have to agree with this. They increased the number of MTR trains that night and everyone should have been home latest by midnight. It is safe, sheltered, clean and well lit and people on the trains are polite. Try seeing a show at Brixton Academy in London and you miss the last train... that is not fun at all. Or coming back from a festival like Glastonbury or Knebworth where there aren't even enough toilets let alone transportation. We have it VERY good here.

WOW...I havent thought of these before:P
