Opening Track For Album 4?

Featured Replies

Ok, let me start off by saying that no, im not asking whether anybody's heard it yet  .

My question is, what would you like the opening track for the 4th album to be like? You can vote on the poll first, so you can choose what opening track you would want for it to sound most like?... If that makes any sense at all :D .

For me I have voted Politik, because thats the closest thing i want to the opening track. Understand? Off you go!

Oh and you can say why you chose it, e.g:

Politik, because its energetic...

I hope the openning track is like Politik in the way it builds, but I voted for something different, because it will hopefully reflect a band that is ocnstantly evolving.:) I'd like to see them try new instruments and sounds (like the violin on the live version of 'Bucket For A Crown').

^Exactly!! And that violin player would of course be ME!

I agree with Tracie.

Something new...duh. Who wants the same sounding stuff over again?

you never know dude, you never know...

i would want to hear something different though...

Something different...

/But if you listed sth like A Ghost...I'd be in a great temptation.

I want something different. Something better :p

I want something completely different to that of what we have heard before from them, it would make everyones hair stand on end, it would be so good, I hope!!!

i sed square one cuz i think a cd should kinda sound like a concert, and square one is the best for concert opening song. i like politik more but as a second song... whatever is the best

Sth completely different? well, I dunno...

I think it'd be good if they keep a bit of this "old" Coldplay style for the first song...

But according to their will of always improving, I guess it'll be sth completely different.

I personally thought "Bucket For A Crown" is a terrible song, and i hope its not on the new album or other album songs sound like it,because i truly will be disappointed then.

Well i thought it was ok, but i think it'll need alot of work before it becomes worthy of being in the final cut.

But im glad that BFAC sounds different to their previous stuff, i think it proves that coldplay are truely evolving their music (however you want to interpret the word "evolving".)

Anyway enough of my chatter, back on topic.

but Square One already sounds like Politik! just a more electronic version of it.

I really love both these songs and Square One has probably Chris Martin's best lyrics and his most affecting singing at the end. But I like the less processed sound of Politik better, for an epic rock track. Square One is about the best thing about X&Y, too bad the rest of teh album couldn't keep up that standard, but it was already a bit of a retread of the formula. The opening track on their next album? I'd say somewhere between White Shadows and Brothers and Sisters.

  • 3 months later...

not completely different,I like their old style

  • 2 weeks later...

I want it to be completely different.

Really, how boring would it be if they kept making the same songs over and over again?

It needs to be something different!
