Fallen soccer idol Paul Gascoigne has revealed he is so skint that he has been forced to shop in charity stores.

The former Tottenham and England star has told how he bought all of the Christmas presents for his family from second-hand shops because he can no longer afford to buy new items.

He told our source: "You can get some really good bargains, I bought my mum, dad and sisters presents from charity shops and I still buy myself stuff.

"You can save so much money so I go in and have a good look around for stuff that will save me money because I can't afford to spend much on things anymore.

"My favourite one is in Ladbroke Grove because you can get designer stuff for next to nothing.

"They know me pretty well in there now because I am always buying things there."

Gazza, 39, made his confession as he appeared to have fallen off the wagon once more.

The alcoholic footballing legend sipped white wine while chain-smoking economy Mayfair cigarettes at west London's Royal Garden hotel with a blonde pal.

Admitting to having "had a few drinks" earlier in the day, Gazza, who was accused by ex-wife Sheryl of beating her on numerous occasions, also told how he can no longer bring himself to watch Spurs - the team where he enjoyed the best years of his career.

"I can't go there anymore because it upsets me too much," he said.

He also said he still loves his 19-year-old step-daughter Bianca - even though she once said that she hoped he would die when he was at death's door with pneumonia.

"She's not my daughter, she's my step-daughter and she has been very nasty to me in the past but I would do anything for her, and I hope she knows that.

"Bianca is using my name to get on and it annoys me, but I know that there isn't much I can do about it so I just let her get on with it now.

"We don't speak anymore. She might send me the odd text but that's as far as it goes - I have no idea what she is doing now."
