THE PARLOTONES

Cyprus Avenue

20th March 2007

Johannesburg based indie-rock quartet The Parlotones, in association with FUJIFILM, have just confirmed a special performance in Whelans 21st March 2007.

Tickets priced €14.50 are on sale now from Ticketmaster and WaV box office.

After eight years of solid legwork and time spent building and nurturing their eclectic sound, The Parlotones have moved into the mainstream and stepped up to take their place alongside the SA music notables. The melodic indie rockers are set to release their brand new single 'Dragonflies And Astronauts' March 23rd and their debut full-length album, 'Radiocontrolledrobot' 30th March.

During 2006, The Parlotones garnered a number of noteworthy accolades, the most recent of which is signing a worldwide license deal with the international division of Universal Music. The deal was set in motion by the single 'Beautiful' being used in the new Fuji Film advert for Ireland.

The band's live act, the basis of any musician's popularity, embraces the concept of performance and the guys certainly fill the stage and put on a show. With influences as diverse as The Beatles, The Clash, The Smiths, REM, Coldplay, and Radiohead, audiences watching The Parlotones will be swept up in a whirlwind of energy and rock, orchestrated by front man Kahn Morbee. Not adverse to experimentation, the band merges innovative and authentic ideas into a comprehensive sound, which lends itself to mammoth live performances, the likes of which audiences have rarely seen.

The Parlotones are Kahn Morbee (vocals, guitar), Neil Pauw (Drums), Paul Hodgson (guitar), and Glen Hodgson (bass, piano, backing vocals)

Don't expect tickets for this one to hang around for long!!
