Street Scene Returns (San Diego)

Featured Replies

LOS ANGELES, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Street Scene, San Diego's preeminent music event for over two decades as well as one of the biggest festivals in the country, is back; and, with a new site this year's edition promises to be even bigger and better than before. Today, Live Nation (So-Cal) President Nick Masters announced that Live Nation will produce Street Scene 2007 in conjunction with longtime event organizer Rob Hagey.

Street Scene 2007 will take place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd. The festival lineup is to-be-announced, with more information coming soon.

"We are thrilled to be a part of such an eagerly-awaited event," Masters said, "and we look forward to continuing Street Scene's famous mix of exciting artists and hot new talent."

After more than twenty years in San Diego's reinvigorated downtown area, a trend which the event anticipated and helped spur, Street Scene 2007 now gives concert goers a new take on the festival experience. The Pacific Ocean, located nearby, offers the prospect of tranquil breezes and spectacular sunsets. However, Street Scene's size, scope and atmosphere will remain, with the Fairgrounds' large complex holding the variety of stages, venues and attractions that Street Scene is known for.

Those stages will host a wider variety of talent than ever before. Combine Live Nation's contacts within the music industry, then add in Hagey's experience, savvy and knowledge of the local scene, and this promises to be the biggest and boldest Street Scene yet.
