My Current Setup includes- Harmon Kardon AVR 146 Receiver 2 Sony Right/Left Floor-standing Speakers SF5000 The Bridge Ipod Dock Symphony Disc Changer Upgrades for Future- Pretty soon I'm getting a Klipsch 10 inch subwoofer A Sony Center, and two surround channel speakers Eventually I might upgrade my right and left speakers to Klipsch Right/Left F-2's also will upgrade to a more powerful Harmon Kardon Receiver like the 347... What's your thoughts? What do you use? What works for You?

December 22, 200718 yr All my stuff is older than I am... mostly from the 70s and early 80s; scavenged from various people and yard sales. It's great because old amps and those big wooden speakers give everything such a warm sound- especially with vinyl. :nice:
December 22, 200718 yr ^Hey, my dad has a high-tech state of the art surround sound type setup for the dvd player. I've played cds on it, and sure they're crystal clear and everything, but it's not the same. I like my stuff better. And hey, when you're broke, free is a really nice concept. :tongue:

December 24, 200718 yr A lot of people do think older speakers are the best in quality and sound... True. The speakers which are more hand-made than machined-made are generally better quality than those cheapo Asia speakers. Wood is better than plastic in my book.
December 24, 200718 yr Yeah, the wooden casing amplifies the sound waves, giving a much richer deeper sound than metal or plastic can. Which is why I'm never switching, if I can help it.
