busybeeburns Posted April 24, 2008 Share Posted April 24, 2008 Quantum of Solace is Daniel Craig's second outing as James Bond A stuntman is seriously ill in hospital after crashing a car on the set of the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Aris Comninos crashed the Alfa Romeo whilst driving on a notoriously winding road near Lake Garda in northern Italy. Another stuntman had minor injuries. A spokeswoman for the movie said filming has been suspended while the accident was being investigated. The accident was the second on the Bond set in four days, after an Aston Martin skidded into a lake on Saturday. Surgery No one was injured and the car was later retrieved from the water. Neither director Marc Forster, actor Daniel Craig nor any cast members were at the location when the most recent accident occurred. A spokesman for the town of Limone sul Garda, where filming has been taking place for the past two weeks, said the car crashed into a wall during a chase sequence involving a truck and Bond's Aston Martin. A helicopter kept on standby during filming flew the seriously injured stunt driver to Verona, where he underwent surgery. Filming for the 22nd movie in the series has already taken the crew to the UK, Panama, Chile and Mexico. The title of the film, which follows on from 2006's Casino Royale, is taken from a short story published by Bond creator Ian Fleming in 1960.
