Does somebody knows if any of the guys plays the violin?

 

That would explain the violin on "Viva La Vida"!!!

They most likely hired a small orchestra to record the violin parts, just as they supposedly hired a 'brass band' for Famous Old Painters.

We'll have to wait until we can read the credits on the album cover/booklet, but I suspect it's a full hired string section.

 

I'd love to know who did the string arrangements this time out. THey're stunning, imo.

a bit hard to play the song live then i guess...

I dunno, Will's a bit of a jack of all trades, isn't he? I would love it if he got to do something other than drum this album. Although having said that I think he's done some harmonica-ing too.
