  1. It's ok but the echo on Chris' voice...toward the end especially, I don't think it's needed.
  2. I didn't, but since I listened to it on proper speakers...it really works. And I never thought I'd say that about a Coldplay song featuring Rihanna!
  3. Heartbreaking and beautiful. Seriously, it made me want to have a little cry.
  4. Live, I wasn't a fan (until the unplugged version on...Letterman I think it was?) but studio? Yes. Very Green Eyes, or is that just me?
  5. Truth, I wasn't actually impressed by it before now. That was lovely.
  6. Lol "Hai audience, we thought you'd be shit but you're not so I suppose we'll come back once we find another pedal to replace the one I just epically broke"
  7. Hahah me too, passive agressiveness because I'm not there methinks!
  8. Bearded man shaking his head as if he vehemently disagrees with the sentiment of Clocks there.
  9. He was fine through Paradise and VLV to my ears, just at the beginning of Charlie Brown his voice was sounding shaky. I think it's adrenaline actually, he's sounding better now he's stopped bouncing about :D
  10. Viva La Vida sounded pretty good :) Started watching mid-Paradise (which sounds better live) and Chris sounds a bit wobbly and knackered, has this been on long?
  11. I'm sure no-one cares but I take it all back. I was sat at work the other morning humming to myself. Despite having blocked out Paradise from my memory after the second listen, that's what I was humming. I downloaded it from iTunes on my break and have listened to it quite a few times since. Each time I like it more and more. A grower, for definite. Upscaling from 5 to a cautious 7 :)
  12. Not for me. There's just far too much going on. My love of Coldplay centres around their simplicity. Everything in their songs just seems effortless, even if it wasn't. But Paradise? It seems like hard work, it probably had a lot of hard work put into it, but there's too much to listen to, it overwhelms me, and I'm not sure I like it. I just think it's going to be a bugger for them to play live with the strings, but then I thought that about Viva la Vida so I don't know. Only two listens, perhaps I'll give it more of a chance in the car over better speakers, but for the first time with a Coldplay song I'm a tiny bit disappointed. Sorry.
  13. Unsure if people are still having problems viewing on iPhones/iPods/iPads etc but if so I watched the video on my iPhone here: http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a327407/coldplay-premiere-every-teardrop-is-a-waterfall-music-video.html And I don't know if people are still wondering why no announcement but the Coldplay twitter account posted about the video 4 hours ago.
  14. <3 ETIAW, instant classic, they really are brilliant aren't they?
  15. Haha I realised afterwards that it was probably less impressive that it first seemed but hey, Coldplay excitement makes me easily impressed :p
  16. Must say, after Charlie Brown & MX/Hurts Like Heaven (whatever it's called now) I am excited for LP5 :D
  17. Good job whoever called Charlie Brown, if you're actually Chris Martin can you focus on the job in hand now please!
  18. Have to say Chris isn't impressing me vocally tonight, dunno if it's the sound or he's just too excited...good to hear Shiver though, beautiful as ever and the other guys, Will especially (always loved his singing) are doing so well.
  19. I never really spoke to her, but I've always remembered her as a huge Coldplay fan. She was a very prolific poster when I first joined the site, and I always wondered where she'd gone. I haven't been on the site in a while, but I had to come here and say R.I.P to Coldplay's truest Superfan, because even though I didn't really know her, I feel really moved by this...it's so tragic.
  20. Oohhhhh bless him I can't believe he thought he was shit in Sheffield...I LOVE him...they were great, but it's so sweet he was worried about it, they're welcome to come back because if they top what I saw that would HAVE to be mindblowing!
  21. I agree with this, I'm giving up now, because no amount of dumbed down explanation with flipcharts and pretty pictures is ever going to get those guys to understand that just because people don't like Joe Satriani and prefer Coldplay doesn't mean that they are tweeny morons who deserve no opinion on music. Everyone deserves an opinion on music. What you like is personal opinion and is only a fraction of the person you are. To call someone average and confused by intricacies just because they're a Coldplay fan just proves that these people are never going to agree with that, and that they think we're idiots because we like Coldplay's music. We know we're not, that's all that matters.
  22. Who exactly are you to say that I wasn't? Um, most people agree it sounds like it, but anything can sound like anything, 11 other songs are alleging plagarism against Viva la Vida alone, surely that tells you it's most likely to just be a coincidental use of a popular melody? I don't think he's untalented, I just don't personally like him and prefer Coldplay. That is MY CHOICE. I really don't understand how you can claim you're not a zealot when you completely refuse to believe other people might have different but still equally valid musical tastes to those you have... What I can't get over is your huge generalisation without any research whatsoever. You are having a go purely because you prefer Joe Satriani, without any regard for anyone else's freedom of opinion, whatever age they may be. Please don't patronise me or other Coldplay fans. I'm not confused by supposed intricacies, nor am I solely excited by the music of Coldplay. Just because I like Coldplay and not Joe Satriani, doesn't mean I might not listen to a dozen other acts with equally intricate and brilliant musical techniques, and this is what you are failing to understand. The music you like does not completely influence the person you are. Except in your case, perhaps.
