Hello all.

This is my first post on this board (although I have been reading for some time now), so I thought I might as well make my first one a contribution.

This is a rendition of Lost? for acoustic guitar. I transcribed it in a semi-hybrid Coldplay-esque tuning (similar to "See You Soon") because I think it gives more of a resonant full sound to compliment Chris's beautiful piano parts.

Coldplay - "Lost?" (acoustic version)

Tabbed via ear by Micah Pilson.

Tuning (low to high): D G D F# B D

Chord Chart (please forgive me, I know that the actual chords created by the tuning are slightly different than what I have written out. I'm not a musical theorist, I just enjoy playing.)

Em - X02100

C - X55600

G - X44500

D - 077070

I know there are more chord variations, I'm just going to tab those out.

Intro/Verses: Em - C - G - D

- During the verses, try to keep the low D string muted.

- The switch from Em to C sounds good if an open-string chord is used

Em C

Just because I'm losing

D Em

Doesn't mean I'm lost

....

CHORUS:

- When the D chord is played in the chorus, un-mute the low D string

- The D chord can be manipulated to 077077 for that full octave sound, I personally like to keep it open and hammer to 077080 for effect

D

I just got lost

C G D

Every river that I tried to cross

C G D

Every door I ever tried was locked

...

Post - Chorus (I know that this doesn't sound quite right, but I can't figure out a better way...sorry!)

C

Oh and I'm...

Pick out

D |-----------0-----------------------0-------------0---|

B |-0--------0-----------------------0-------------7---|

F#|----------5-----------------0----3-------------0---|

D |----0h5-5----5--0-------------4--------5\7-7---|

G |-5-------5------------5-4---4-4---4---------7---|

D |------------------------------------------------0---|

....... Just waiting 'til the shine wears off

...

(Do all that stuff again)

...

Solo: When playing the following chords, put emphasis on the high notes.

Em - X02102 3x

Em/C - X00000 1x

C - 055050 3x

C/G - 055000 1x

G - 044000 3x

Slide up

D - 050650 3x

D/Em - 050000 1x

repeat

Resume at Post - Chorus

Outro = Intro 1x

End

Em - 002102

--------------------------------------

That's it folks. If you play around with the different possibilities in this tuning, you'll quickly find that there are many different ways to play this. This was just My preference.

Please let me know if anyone finds an awesome way to play it that I haven't thought of...I'm always eager to share thoughts!

Cheers.

Micah.
