My review of the new album

Featured Replies

Right, having listened to the album quite a lot, both at work on my iPod, though my car speakers and though my room's speaker system, I'm happy enough to do a review on the album.

In my honest opinion the album scores a very reasonable 9.7 out of 10, the tracks all have something special about them, however the album loses marks for lacking a proper sense of flow between tracks (they could have linked the ending to Life In Technicolor with the start of Cemeteries Of London, so you could tell it was 2 tracks which flowed into each other).

The biggest disappointment are with Reign of Love & Chinese Sleep Chant, where they have good flow with their previous tracks, I can't find any love in those 2 tracks, which is a shame because if I could find some love with those 2 tracks, the score would be higher to challenge my top 3 albums of the year so far (Elbow-Bon Iver & Fleet Foxes).

So that's my review :)

9.7 out of 10 is extremely high for an album that you yourself says has a few problems.

I'd agree with your review in terms of flow. The album feels very much like a collage instead of a singular painting.

I like Chinese Sleep Chant alot myself.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion :)
