  1. I like how some people are harboring the illusion that if they complain about anything enough they can influence the artist to change it. Trust me, Rihanna, wouldn't have been the first name that popped into my head, but she has a decent enough voice, and with some Coldplay touch I'm sure it would be a great song. I'm more interested in the revelation that this album is STILL a concept album about boy and girl relationships. The need for two voices is interesting! Also, their last collab with a female artist, Kylie Minogue, was amazing. Luana is a great and underrated song.
  2. Please calm down. Coldplay are going to release the most poppy songs first as they generate a greater mass appeal for the band that goes beyond their hardcore fan base. I'm sure there will be more introspective songs on the album that appeal to you. I would say this however. Really think about it. Chris is now married, has kids and is a millionaire. He really isn't going to be able to write depressed songs with conviction. Hence this more "upbeat" direction.
  3. My main concern is the vinyl. Not sure I like the sound of the graffiti vinyl. Last time I checked colored vinyl really did not compare to the real thing!
  4. Fantastic show. My ears are still ringing! I was one behind the barrier at the gig. Such as fantastic sound and a great setlist. I'm so glad they played Moving To Mars, very magical moment. My only qualm was being at the front and left I was at the mercy of Jonny's (wonderful) but very loud guitar amps, so I couldn't really hear Chris all that clearly. Nevermind. I see alot of people saying the crowd were pretty dead. Well, considering I'd been there since about 4 o clock outside queuing, my feet were pretty gone, but I jumped and went for it! Compared to the Foo Fighters, the crowd were alot more tame. With regards to the Pierces. I think they have a great sound, but it's abit MOR for me. I'd have preferred a slightly more energetic band to get me more pumped for Coldplay. Also. It was SO HOT.
  5. Bands change, because like people, we change through the years. The things and instruments that turn us on when we were younger, now no longer don't. For example, why bands move from guitars to synths. These songs aren't overproduced by any means. Heck, most people are probably listening to a rubbish low quality youtube stream of a song that probably tens of thousands of pounds worth of quality recording equipment to capture it. Brian Eno is far from soulless. Infact, I think he's injected more life into the band than before. Making them go out of comfort zones and into the realm of more interesting sounds and less classic song structures. The way I see it, I would rather Chris Martin be true to himself, write from the heart. How can you write melancholic ballads about love, loss and hurt, when you're a millionaire married to one of those beautiful women in the world? You can't do it without sounding contrived and forced. Thankfully, Chris found something different to write about, and we should be thankful for that.
  6. Brilliant. Very good idea! I'll get there for then :)
  7. Hahaha! Yes. Her first gig seeing them. :) I saw them in Roskilde Festival and that was truly fantastic. Great setlist. Any idea of when people might be queuing up for it? We might try and get into London from Bristol early!
  8. Thank you! It's my girlfriends birthday today, she's always wanted to see Coldplay so she's VERY happy! Seems like a pretty small gig for Coldplay! Hopefully hear some new tunes!
  9. The change is due to artistic progression. Coldplay are trying to do something different from albums that have proceeded them. A big part of their efforts are now their live performances, so I wouldn't mind betting you that this song was written as an exercise in how to create a big festival song in the simplest way possible. It really irritates me how some fans expect them to return to their earlier sounds. You will always have those records to treasure, so listen to them. Also, even if they did release something in the same vein as Parachutes, Parachutes has the massive advantage of being intertwined with memories, compared to the new songs which have only existed in your mind for a short amount of time! I can't say I'm the biggest fan of Every Tear Drop, but I do APPRECIATE the fact that Coldplay, one of the biggest bands in the world isn't just kicking back and saying "Yeah, we'll knock out a few Yellows and Talks for this album. Job done". But they're actually trying to progress and IMPROVE as musicians! That takes alot of courage and we should applaud them for it.
  10. Beautiful band. Two Weeks is gonna be totally amazing on record. Yellow House is one of my favourite albums ever. =] Are you on Attease btw?
  11. Number 16 in the main Itunes chart now :D
