Coldplay don't stop writing so it's not a case of if they're working on material for the next album, it's more a case of whether any will still be around by then. Also, rumours are always rife about when an album's coming but it won't necessarily be next year, though we can't say when. Equally it will be what it will be, there's no plan of its musical direction
