The £7.8billion deal has emerged as one of the main focuses of the Financial Services Authority probe following last week's arrest of seven City figures on suspicion of using confidential information to cash in. FSA investigators are taking a microscopic look at the volatile trading in S&N shares from October 2007, when Carlsberg and Heineken unveiled their joint 720p bid, through to the agreed 800p offer the following January.
