Hey, I just recorded Warning Sign this month, and wanted to share.

 

I used different instruments that you'll probably never hear on a Coldplay album (Irish Bouzouki, Accordion). I'm fairly new at singing ,so I tried my best. Did the whole recording, and produced it too. It's not bad for having used a 150 dollar hand held recorder and a couple free programs to produce.

 

Trying to keep it real, check it

I enjoyed the cover... though it sounded off key during the "when the truth is... I miss you" bit.

 

also I think this should be moved to outside the lounge.

but....musically- I loved. It was lovely enough to send the always present chills down my spine- my usual reaction to Warning Sign.:wacky:

It is what it is- a cove, no one expects it to be a perfect imitation of Chris Martin.

But I love the music. It is my favourite song.

I thought it was very good, I love the music, the guitar work and the also quality of the recording, I think your vocals are fine, especially considering you are new to singing. Also, something to bare in mind, you are asking for feedback from big coldplay fans who know the songs intimately and will pick on tiniest things, so if they are critical dont take it to heart.

lol, onto the vocals, I knew the vocals were shoddy already anyway. The end part was crazy because I sure as heck can't sing as high as Chris, so I had to try to sing it very low. The middle octave sounded even worse, so I stuck with the low.

 

To be perfectly honest, I only heard the song weeks ago. My new girlfriend joined the Navy, and will be gone a long time. I knew that when we got together, but didn't realize how hard it would be. That song touched my soul when I heard it.

This is something I dont understand, why do non coldplay fans come to this website and then act like the Coldplay fans have made a terrible faux pas by posting....wait for it.....a Coldplay song! Also its not like you were lured into this thread, i mean, the title is a bit of a give away.

the lounge is meant for misc./random topics... we already have a separate music forum (non-coldplay), a coldplay forum, and even "the instrument room" that people can put covers/tabs.

 

...so there's not much of a reason to make a music thread in the lounge with all those other outlets if you ask me.

Also Jim, Can I ask how you recorded your cover? I struggle to get good quality with my songs. Thanks.
