NATO Summit @ Chicago, IL USA

So I don't know how many other coldplayers live in Chicago, but I'm sure a good number of us in the U.S. know of the upcoming NATO summit in a couple days. Recently protesters from around the country have been flooding into Chicago by the busload and the city has been gearing up rather intensely for every possible scenario. It's all a bit crazy to me as I haven't experienced this level of alert in this city since 9/11 and it's going to make transportation an absolute hell this weekend. The G8 summit was also supposed to be held here but due to security issues has been moved to Camp David. Military helicopters are making routine runs through the loop and around other areas of the city while F-16's will soon be utilized to enforce the no-fly zone over the loop during the summit. I wanted to get to know a general opinion of NATO from those of you here and your thoughts on the matter, especially those of you living in the Chicagoland area. If a thread has already been made about this I apologize in advance :)
