The transcript of a recent interview with Brian Eno conducted by a German radio station has been issued by his press people. The interview refers to the making of Eno’s new album, Small Craft On A Milk Sea, his decision to sign with Warp Records, and his ongoing interest in minimalism, and more interestingly, some new information that came to light about Coldplay's recording sessions during the Viva era, including the first introduction of Jon Hopkins to the Bakery recording process.   We're not

Coldplay made their anticipated video return this month and unveil the ground-breaking new video to blissful summer lament, ‘Strawberry Swing’, exclusively on Babelgum. The Shynola-directed video sees Chris Martin play an animated superhero in a larger-than-life world drawn entirely in chalk.   Fans had the opportunity to see the video for the first time ever on Babelgum and on the iPhone application (featuring this video plus Coldplay’s video back catalogue, a news feed and game), on July 20th.

For every band, espicially those with a discography as large as Coldplay's, there are certain songs which fans remain critical of. 'Sheikwonder' in the Coldplaying community decided to make this a discussion and find out your 'Worst Coldplay Songs'. We've compiled the responses into a top 5 countdown.   Bear in mind, some of these songs have love/hate relationship with other fans, so they could top some fans favourite lists too.   Without further ado, here's the critical countdown (Chris, you

Coldplay's frontman has presented the ex-Oasis man, Noel Gallagher with a Q Award, earlier this afternoon. The 'Heat Of The Moment' singer won the 'Best Album' award for his recent record, 'Chasing Yesterday'.   The pair have been good friends, even back in Noel's Oasis days when and that time when so he could hug the Oasis guitarist. With Noel being....Noel though, he's never been afraid to direct criticism to his buddy. In the most recent case, he told Chris to "stop crying his heart ou

Not much has been revealed at this time about the exact meaning of Mylo Xyloto, although there are developments from last night's TV appearance in Paris which will be televised in October. According to Coldplayers, the band discussed the meaning of Mylo Xyloto, Coldplayer Lu'kaa saying: "Yesterday in an interview in the french TV show Chris explained that Mylo Xyloto was just an imaginary language, with two words: Mylo and Xyloto. It's about creating a new word, from nothing, kind of like Google

Before Coldplay's outstanding concert at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, their frontman attended a talk on a whole range of spiritual subjects, including yoga, karma & tranquility meditation. Chris explained how the latter influences his concentration at live concerts, while we know the singer has been practicing Yoga for a very long time.   Christa, from our moderating team was in attendance at the New York talk and she gave us a summary of what happened:   "Ok, so I am going to

Interview found on eBay Chatter:   Coldplay is one of my favorite bands and is currently touring to promote their new album Viva la Vida. I had the chance to interview drummer Will Champion when they came to San Jose to play at the HP Pavilion.   I asked him if he had ever bought or sold anything on eBay. Here is what he said: "Well, for our new single, Viva La Vida, we needed to find a big bell for me to ring. So we looked on eBay and found an old school bell that we bought. We used it in the s

Chris Martin on Piano or Guitar? It's a tough question but it's one which has been discussed within the Coldplay community. The lead singer of Coldplay has rocked out a countless number of stadiums across the world, with his guitar, during songs like 'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face' and 'Charlie Brown'. He's also penned some of the band's greatest hits on the Piano, with the likes of 'Clocks' and 'Fix You'.   Based on the discussion, Piano is slightly ahead of Guitar in popularity! (Thanks to '

claxson on the Coldplaying multimedia forums has very kindly re-uploaded a bunch of old school Coldplay concerts (Audio recordings). The list is growing larger by the day and there are some real gems in there. Some haven't been seen since the time of the concert and go as far back as 1999!   We've been listening to the old school concerts and have picked out some of the highlights, placing them on our Youtube channel. The iconic music video for Coldplay's first proper hit single, 'Yellow' was filmed 15 years to this day. Chris Martin getting soaked on the Dorset beach wasn't the original plan however. The past 24 hours have been exuberant for many Coldplayers, as news broke of Chris Martin performing at a Cafe/Bar in New Delhi, India! Not only did footage of the intimate solo performance appear online but rumours of Coldplay appearing in India for the first time, were rife. It's believed that the British band could choose the Indian capital as a venue for their next tour. Here's a summary of everything we know, in a nutshell: The Coldplay frontman performed at the Summerhouse Café in New

Chris Martin wears an impish grin, a cross between a kid just let out of school for the summer and a dog newly liberated from his kennel.   At first glance, the reason could be the french fries he’s scarfing down at an outdoor chicken eatery or perhaps his 9-year-old son Moses’s fresh flag-football team victory. But ask a few questions about Coldplay’s seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, out Dec. 4, and the answer blossoms like a rose.   “That this is our job after 16 years of being together

Typically, when movie studios set out to market an adult drama about a historic event, they write off teenagers.   But when Paramount Pictures executives first screened director-producer Oliver Stone's upcoming release, "World Trade Center," for a test audience last month, they realized there was nothing typical about selling a movie about 9/11.   Teens who were just children when the Twin Towers fell said in a focus group attended by Paramount marketing staffers that the movie strongly resonate

Ahead of headlining Glastonbury for the first time on June 28th 2002, the nervous four piece, Coldplay were anticipating what was probably their most important live date in their careers. Publicly, opinions were split on the British band. Their first album, 'Parachutes' was a huge success but they had their critics, such as Alan McGee, who labelled the band as "bed-wetters". The band did not have any doubts in their ability though and so much so, they decided to perform a set with eight new song

Chris Martin appeared on two Australian radio stations during their Monday morning, chatting to them about a range of topics and while on the subject of Chris lending a helping hand to Ricky Gervais, Chris surprisingly revealed that Coldplay's previous history with the comedian goes back to when they were all working regular day jobs!   Yes, the man who later went on to star as David Brent in the British comedy classic, 'The Office' employed a certain Mr Champion, as a doorman (at a bar)!
