Paul Weller [pictured] has slagged off so many people ahead of the Brits, that Coldplay are feeling more than a little bit neglected.   After his band's gig for Radio Two at London's Abbey Road Studios on Monday, Chris Martin told us: "I've heard Paul dissing James Blunt and the others, but there's no need for that. Actually we are feeling left out. He hasn't said anything about us yet. I really want him to. I love Paul Weller, he's great. Maybe on the night he'll say something."   Over to you

Tickets for Coldplay’s new date on December 21st at the new O2 Arena in Dublin went on sale at 9am this morning - by 9.06am looking for any one isolated ticket was unsuccessful - in layman’s terms, it was sold out.   And just as we predicted, Coldplay (or rather Ticketmaster.ie) immediately added a second date for the next Night, Monday 22nd and that one was gone by 9.10am.   So not one, but two dates sold out in ten minutes; 34,000 tickets quickly snapped up; and at a cost of €61.15 (including

More on the story that Future Forests project has ground to a halt:   An environmental scheme endorsed by Coldplay has ground to a halt in the wake of Southern India's devastating drought.   Coldplay signed up with Future Forests, who have now changed their name to CarbonNeutral, in a bid to off-set ecological damage caused by the production of their 2002 album 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'.   But despite encouraging fans to invest in the campaign to grow much-needed mango forests, the plan has

EMI chairman Guy Hands consoled himself after EMI's Coldplay missed out on the awards at the band's late-night charity gig at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, reports The Financial Times. The star-studded War Child benefit saw Coldplay share an encore with Take That singer Gary Barlow , U2's Bono and the Killers.   The Terra Firma boss was deep in conversation with silver-jacketed Pet Shop Boys frontman Neil Tennant on the VIP balcony as U2 guitarist The Edge looked on. As Coldplay took to the stage

Chris Martin harbours a secret dream to appear on hit US house renovation show Extreme Makeover: 'Home Edition' - because he's a big fan.   Chris insists he doesn't need a makeover on any of his homes, but he'd like to book an appearance on the ABC show, and he's gone so far as to ask TV bosses to consider it.   He says, "Maybe someone one day will be a Coldplay fan. That show, to me, is like taking one of the worst sides of our culture - reality TV - and crossing it with the best side of human

So you don't have to do more than give a yes or no answer here, but is the new album named yet? Or are they saving that for last? Also, it was said in the past that they want this new album to be more "acoustic and more intimate" has it all shaped up like that? If you can't or won't tell us that is fine. I was just curious. The Oracle Replies: I can't

Coldplay could be heading for their first UK number one single, in just a few hours time.   Coldplay have stormed into first place with all four of their albums, but perhaps surprisingly they have never hit the top spot in the UK with a single. All that could change when the Official Charts Company announce the new top 40 tonight. You can listen to the countdown live on BBC Radio 1 which starts from 4pm BST (11am EST).   Even though the single is not physically in the shops yet, Viva La Vida - t

Coldplay overcame first night nerves at the opening of their US tour last week - when Chris Martin forgot his lines onstage.   The singer stumbled while singing Til' Kindgom Come - a hidden track on their new album X&Y - in Hartford, Connecticut, on Thursday night.   Martin joked to fans afterwards, "Oh, now you'll get us voted off American Idol."   The singer also struggled with the heat onstage and had to make a number of costume changes, which prompted the comment, "We're getting close t

We'll get at least two more Coldplay bootlegs in the not-too-distant future with the news that the shows at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark (28th August - next Tuesday!) and at Malieveld, The Hague, Netherlands (6th September) will be aired live on Danish P3 and Dutch 3FM radio stations respectively. Keep an eye on the threads in the next few days for listen live links and further information. If we get news on any further European show broadcasts we will update this news article. [thanks

What do you do when you're the bestselling music act in the world? If you're Coldplay, you start giving away albums for free. For the band's summer and autumn tour, Chris Martin has resolved to give every Coldplay concert-goer a free live album. "It's a way of saying thank you," he explained to the Sun earlier this week. "It's a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets."   It was only a year ago that Coldplay made their first foray into the, er, free world. Starting with gr

Just days after their appearance at the Grammy Awards, the performances by Coldplay and Katy Perry will be available to buy. Coldplay performed ‘Lost’ with Jay-Z and ‘Viva La Vida’.   Elio Leoni-Sceti, CEO of EMI Music, said: "What a truly exciting Grammy evening.
