A reminder that, until midnight on Sunday night, anyone who pre-orders the 7-inch vinyl boxset from Coldplay's UK/Rest Of The World online store will be entered into a competition. One lucky winner will then have their boxset signed by all four members of the band!   Meanwhile we asked you to vote on whether you will be buying the Singles 1999-2006 boxset. Ultimate-Guitar.com posted an article this week claiming the title of Coldplay's fifth album is 'The Beehive'. Whether or not this is a mistake, or just early judgment is uncertain. Here's the full quote: 'The Beehive' is a follow-up to 2008's 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends' and is set to be released by the end of the year. More discussion on this at the Coldplay forum here [thanks TyM218]   Meanwhile in previous album news, Coldplay have been named in Spin's 125 Best Albums of the p

Some very disappointed Coldplayers who paid top dollar to see Coldplay over the last few days at the Hollywood Bowl ended up getting the cold shoulder instead. People who found some of the tickets on Craigslist, Stubhub, eBay, and other Internet sites -- and paid in the $200-$400 range per seat -- were stunned and disappointed to find that the tickets were fakes. [Catch up on the latest tweets, pictures, videos from last night's show at the Coldplay Live forum - Hollywood Bowl night 3 - now.]

Glastonbury Festival 2011 resale tickets were snapped up in under two hours this morning (Sunday) as fans eager to see the likes of U2, Coldplay and Beyonce tried desperately to buy unwanted and unsold passes from the original ticket sale.   Sources suggested that a record number of festival-goers had registered to buy tickets in the resale after Beyonce was confirmed to headline the Sunday (26 June). "Apologies to those of you who didn't get a ticket," tweeted the festival on their GlastoFest T

Three Coldplay demos from circa December 2005 have surfaced online this weekend - Bloodless Revolution, Lovers In Japan and a day later came St. Stephen. They came from the early Viva La Vida era, prior to the band travelling to North America, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong in 2006 and Latin America for the tour in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico in February and March of 2007. This means that Lovers In Japan is now nearly fours years old!   You can hear the demo for Bloodl

Coldplay played the Austin City Limits festival in Texas last night (16th September 2011) in their first festival appearance back after a 5 week break. Up In Flames (UIF) and Don't Let It Break Your Heart were NOT played in Coldplay's festival performance in Austin despite UIF having been debuted at the Taping event the previous night. Paradise, however, was added to the setlist instead of Life Is For Living. They continued with their cover of Rehab by the late Amy Winehouse.   The concert was s

Stay tuned for a regularly updated post about the highlights of Chris Martin's big special night as the DJ of Zane Lowe's show at BBC Radio 1 today from 7 pm.   Before taking over the DJ show, Chris talked to Scott Mills, saying he'd brought a keyboard into the studio to do a 2-hours-jazz-show: "So if you're into jazz - tonight's the night!" In addition, when asked whether drinking your wife's breast milk would be fine, Chris simply replies "Yeah", also saying he'd drunk breast milk himself alre

So far to date Coldplayers have confirmed that cinemas in Florida, California, Texas and Washington DC have been selling tickets for Coldplay's forthcoming Glastonbury 2011 performance next month (25th June), with more shows expected to be available across the US and Canada, including (but not limited to) Ottawa. Wednesday the 25th January saw the second leg of the U.S tour begin in Seattle (congratulations on their impending Superbowl debut!).   The support came from the more than capable Fiona Apple, well worth getting there early for. The set has stayed pretty much the same, with a few extras, but went down a storm.   Don't forget to check out our free members area to get updates from the road, courtesy of Miller's diaries on the Coldplayer.   Source: Coldplay.com

In a way, history repeats itself on the next Billboard album sales chart. After three weeks of ruling record sales, Coldplay have been overthrown, and it took a honky-tonkin' American — country legend George Strait — to end the British band's reign over the albums chart.   Somewhere Down in Texas, Strait's newest offering, claims the chart's #1 spot, moving close to 245,000 copies its first week out. Strait's latest shelves Coldplay's run at the top, jostling the rockers' X&Y two spots to a
