  1. Dude you are my brother in arms! All that and just so much yes! ^^
  2. I belive they will be greater than ever after AHFOD. They will pull it together and make LP8 a fans delight. The future is bright and positive for CP.
  3. Coldplay wear their collective hearts on a sleeve, always have :) I believe they love to experiment and use the sound of the now for their new ideas. Be it musically or lyrically. Sure they have strayed and may have struggled with keeping quality consistent. But I believe it reflects the point they are in life and feelings derived from it. They are songwriters for the masses yet can be songsmiths for one. Probably they aim to please too much as well. Which is very hit and miss in of itself. You can only make so many happy doing so :)
  4. And in 4 he will be 42 ;)
  5. "Bedwetter" eras oh wow xD
  6. Sorry about that :3 Reign of Love
  7. Well lyrically MM ties into the concept strongly and is one hell of a rocker. Also I believe X&Y describes new found love/true love perfectly :D The two of you feel lost amongst a sea of emotions or drifting away together into bliss. And the music reflects that very well IMO.
  8. That makes sense but I was avoiding discussion of them when I was a teen. Now that I'm 22 I don't care and will discuss at will. Also I happen to enjoy those eras I feel they truly are being themselves now and I can relate :)
  9. X&Y is my favorite song! :D Low +Its a real rhythmic track, show cases Wills X&Y era metronomic drumming well, the switch up is awesome and perfectly describes what its like to constantly cheer someone up who doesn't respond. -Lyrics are really cheesy (still love them), guitar is not as good as it could be and the sudden fade in is a bit jarring after A Message.
  10. On the topic of avoidance of speaking about them. People percive them as "gay" or "weak" musically and that is bs. More people should open up to their music. I read a quote from Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters saying "I love the Coldplay guys I know heavy metalheads who listen to them" :) See the universal appeal is there but some would rather stick with the lies and not find out for themselves. There is no changing that. But I personally used to avoid it around friends in fear of being perceived as feminine and emotional. And now I dont really care what they think xD
  11. Simply put Coldplay writes music for the masses yet everyone has a soft spot for certain songs, albums and eras. It all depends on your own self, the state you're in, your music tastes and what you identify with from their output. This is why we fans each will defend our eras, albums etc. to the point of being blue in the face. I happen to be an Allplayer, favorite album X&Y, era Mylo Xyloto, favorite song X&Y and 42 ;) and first heard them during late Viva La Vida era. But that's the thing I had to get really get into them and that took till Mylo. I think my eclectic taste and non heavy preferance to any one period comes from me having to accept that I loved their work. Some here knew it instantly some not. It all is based around situation and perspective after all.
  12. I love how A Whisper ties into Clocks and it's incessant rhythm almost mantra quality. Same reason I love Army Of One its like a mantra of undying love ^^
  13. Perish the thought how is Indie/Alt comparable to Hip-Hop/R&B xD
  14. A Whisper lacks melody or XMTS? Sorry I lost track here xP
  15. Well I mean what's the gripe with it? :) Love Oasis and haven't listend to Lana Del Ray really. BTW Foo Fighters, Silversun Pickups and Foster The People off the top of mine :D
  16. Either way I love it and why does everyone here hate A Whisper here? :D :p
  17. Really I seriously thought it was Will but I think you might be right :)
  18. I loved both as well :D XMTS really does sound similar to Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar xD (Production wise that is ;)) Also is that Will singing backing especially the "So I Race For It" line?
  19. P.S. I'm not familiar with hindi either :) I found that out on a YouTube video for Amazing Day live xD :)
  20. No prob I'm just glad to have helped :3 They also shot a possible music video in India and have been saying they will tour there ^^ Im glad if they do everyone should be able to see them live :D
  21. Finally someone else who had to come to grips with them xD I had to stiffle my love for them at first but now I don't care anymore :) Once I heard Clocks and Strawberry Swing I was hooked. They just rock as a band and people always hate when something is too happy, sad or sincere. People just like to go with the status quo. And their constant self depreciation, likability and name are easy to ridicule. To be honest we fans are a source of derision too. But none of that matters because they are great and write wonderful music :D
  22. I think its the same text you see on their amplfiers for this era. Coldplay in hindi if I'm not mistaken :)
  23. Hi I'm new to all of this but I love the sense of community :) And how people will discuss all facets of the band. Or anything on their minds at the time O.o Anyway it is so great and Id love to hear your reasons for the above :3 You can choose to answer one or all. Anything is welcome here :D I'll start with answering all three. Favorite album: X&Y: Love how the production is a very nice mix of space rock and syth/electronica, Will's metronomic drumming (Great on Talk, White Shadows and Twisted Logic), Chris and his sometimes cheesy lyrics sometimes inspired lyrics in addition to his beautiful piano/organ/acoustic playing (Fix You, X&Y, Speed Of Sound and Swallowed In The Sea coming to mind), Jonny trying out new things while opening up more (Owning on Square One, Speed Of Sound and Talk) and Guy with his bass starting to come to the fore a bit (Love his lines for What If, Square One and Low) And don't even get me started on the b-sides. Also this was some of the first music I heard of theirs :) I only wish I had been older when it came out. (Would have killed to see them live then xD) Favorite song X&Y: The reason is I love the space rock sound. Chris's lyrics and Jonny's layered guitar work (Especially toward the end) And the syth strings that end the song. All around gorgeous song to me. Favorite era: Split down the middle between VIVA LA VIDA and MX. I think with Viva they started to love playing live and being on stage. Plus the album VLVODAAHF and the ep Prospekts March are killer. Same goes for LRLRLRL :D Also this is when I started really digging them :3 Now as for Mylo I believe by then they were enjoying themselves no matter what people thought. And they brought that kind of thinking with them live. (Wanted to see them live so bad then. Got close had a buddy with tickets to The Hollywood Bowl show but no one to drive me to his place. But alas such is fate :p) And the album exudes energy and life as a result of that. I love the imagery associated with MX and all around sound both live and on record. I became a life long fan in 2011. And it was that era that was a bright spot for me at a low point in my life. So anyway there you go. Sorry it was a bit long and detailed-ish. (That's the way I think and talk lol) Can't wait to see all of your answers and stories that go with them (But only if you wanna share) ^^
  24. ^ ALL THAT! :D I think of sirens and secret police busting in to take you away to a gulag or place of that nature :)
