even if the album isn't that good (i think it is amazing), it will still sell well everywhere due to the hype surrounding it. this board seems to hate speed of sound, yet look at the records it broke on the download charts. coldplay are going to become huge.

did anyone else notice that during the ask coldplay section when MTV played some clips of them performing they called swallowed in the sea fix you and fix you x&y? i was extremely pissed, you would think mtv could get it f*cking right. i was pissed, and still am pissed!

they seem to love the hell out of the white stripes though, perhaps because they are typically more "rock"y?

i vote what if too. but i don't think it will get much airplay in the states (at least where i'm at) because coldplay has a hard time fitting in to our radio formats. it's too obscure for the pop stations and far too soft for the rock stations, and what if fits in between those.

to me it is just interesting to see what people related to the industry say, but it will in no way affect my love for coldplay and the songs on x&y

woo i was feeling a little bit down after the rs review but the orange county register one made me feel a lot better :D

the reviewer obviously came in expecting parachutes era coldplay and perhaps a rehash of arobtth. i respect coldplay for not standing still and i love the new album. but before we all go nuts about them only giving x&y 3 stars, we must remember that nme gave it a 9 out of 10 and blender gave it 5 stars, proclaiming "coldplay have their masterpiece". so far this poopy review is the odd man out :)
