The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
Not that I'm aware of. I can care less which thread is posted in more. In fact I think that a moderator should merge the two threads. Assuming of course that that's an option in phpBB.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
FFRepublic (now dead, had 6,000 members, super moderator) Last|[OCP] (I just quit as co-webmaster about a week ago) FFImpulse (Currently I'm an administrator) City of Final Fantasy (webmaster before I shut them down) FFDistrict (super moderator, also shut down) And a couple others I'm far too lazy to remember. As you can see most of the sites are gone now. My staffing days are pretty much gone. I'm far too busy with social life and web design these days. And no, I'm not a Final Fantasy fan. I just always end up posting at Final Fantasy forums. Wow. This got off topic.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
I did search the topic. However I'm a newbie to phpBB. I'm used to the search function of vBulletin (which I've been frequenting for about 4 years now). So the way I searched there were 4 pages of results and I was far too lazy to go through all of them. The results on the first page were all "What are you listening to" or the like so I assumed there were no recent threads. On the boards I moderate it's generally accepted that you make a new thread instead of thread necromancy. ;)

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
The amount of posts that you have has no correlation with your general intelligence. Also, my original post that I made had no intention of seeming like an attack. I was just stating the fact that you revived a year and a half old thread directly after I posted one on the same subject. The question in your post was also answered in the thread I made.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
They just came out with a new album. Read my thread that I posted before you revived this one.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
That thread is two years old. I'm not going back that far. It's obvious that they needed a new thread. And anyways, think about it: How many Oasis threads have been made? Yeah, that's what I thought.

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
The Mars Volta After searching as far back as January I can't find a single thread about this band. The Mars Volta are one of the greatest new bands. I shouldn't say new since they pulled a phoenix out of At The Drive-In. Still the band's only 3 years old. Their newest album, Frances the Mute is one of the best prog rock albums I've heard in years. Certainly the best since I heard Yes' greatest hits album YesYears. It's a mix of Pink Floyd-esque song transitions, Yes, vocals that can only be compared to Robert Plant, and drumming that could give John Bonham a run for his money. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is a rising guitar player and with a bit of help from John Frusciante (of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame) on L'Via L'Viaquez's solos the guitaring is unstoppable. The drumming by Jon Theodore is another brilliant part of the album. It's just what drives the music on. Then there's Cassandra Gemini. A 30 minute mammoth of a song that goes through so many phases it's hard to tell that it's the same song. In conclusion, I do realize I've composed a little love note to them, but this is by far my favorite album. Now, favorite albums don't come easilly to me. In fact I've only had 3 since 1997. Radiohead's OK Computer and then Kid A and now The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute. http://www.themarsvolta.com for a little sample of their music. Check the media section.

coldplay vs radiohead
Allow Me To Make A Pointless Radiohead Comparison No. I'm not going to say anything along the line's of "Coldplay is a wannabe Radiohead" I know. The two bands are very different but there's a couple of key things I've noticed. a.) Parachutes = Pablo Honey The somewhat meh debut album. Don't get me wrong. I like both of these albums and they're great when compared to other bands. However, when you compare them to the rest of the band's discography they fall flat on their faces. b.) Yellow = Creep These songs both became anthems of modern day rock 'n roll. Also, both of these songs got the bands (for a short time) labeled as one hit wonders. Oh how the critics were proven wrong. c.) A Rush of Blood To The Head = The Bends Both of these albums are drastically more mature sounding than their debut albums. These are also the albums that gave the bands a large following. d.) X&Y = OK Computer? From what I've heard so far Coldplay have started to experiment with electronica on their album (albeit 70's-esque electronica). OK Computer was also Radiohead's first dive into the world of electronica. Beware the coincidences. Also, OK Computer is arguably the greatest Radiohead album. According to Chris this is going to be Coldplay's greatest. Alright. I'm done now. Just felt like sharing.

"Talk" No longer on upcoming Album!
Good lord, spam bots are going to love this thread. Here's a tip for the wise. Never post your email out openly. If you have to post [email protected] instead of [email protected]. Just a tip for the wise if you value your spam box not being filled to the brim. Next, if you want to hear Talk. Google this simple phrase "Coldplay Talk mp3" It'll be easy as hell to find. All you people are saying "Wow, this song is great! If it's a B-Side then everything else must be better!" That's not necessarilly true. Belle & Sebastian's Your Cover's Blown is quite possibly my favorite song by them and it's a B-Side. The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute "Decoder" was left off their newest CD and it's not any worse than anything on that CD.
