"Because this is more serious than you make it out to be, I wouldn't be a very good person if I didn't try to warn people." the reason why this quote is upsetting to some of us is that you're assuming your beliefs are better than ours. i'm sure many of us have done our research and maybe even tried christianity or other religions... we just choose not to follow them. but when you say things like that you're basically saying "my religion is superior than what you believe." it's great that christianity works for you... but for some of us... who've also spent as much time studying religion as you... we don't appreciate it when you assume your beliefs on us. it's kind of the same thing as if a buddhist threatened you with a worse reincarnated life. whether it's offensive, or you think it's just plain silly... it doesn't work.

hmm i think the performance was alright... it's just got a little boring with the set-up they had on stage. will was a little limited with only two timpanis. you can't really build much with that.

yeah see... this is why these conversations always turn into a debate. "I can only hope and pray that those who do not believe will one day accept Christ before it's too late., and as far as quoting the Bible, I hope you truly ponder the words that the apostle Paul spoke to the people of Rome who had rejected God." why can't you hope for our happiness in believing what we want to believe? i didn't say to you, "i can only hope that you accept logic and the natural rule of things before it's too late to not waste your remaining time with religion." i guess i just said it, but i'm not directing it towards anything - just trying to make a point.

ooo well... i'm agnostic but this: "A Christian's 'intelligent' conversation: Other: Wrong. Christian: Not wrong, bible says so, and God says the bible is free from error, and the Bible notes God is Omnipotent and Omniscient, so it's true. Other: That's circular logic. Christian: Not it's not, the bible says it isn't." isn't fair. that's just as closed-minded as the extreme christians you're describing.

yeah i think it's up to you to read into the lyrics. i mean... you can take some of his existential lines like the reviewer did from "speed of sound" and make it sound like he's referring to a god... but then you can take a line like "if you love me, won't you let me know?" and make it seem like he's an agnostic. i'm sure as many references as chris has towards a god, there are just as many that lean the exact other way. http://www.myspace.com/themodernantiques

ok ok well i think we figured out the problem. i've had music theory for songwriters. dr. boss and piano world have music theory for classical musicians. theory for songwriters says minor keys are always natural unless stated otherwise. theory for classical musicians says minor keys are harmonic since a natural minor is the same as a major key. got it. they should really get the assumptions to match. that's not cool for fellow musicians.

yeah yeah greta... i think dr. boss is just trying to argue that he was ALWAYS talking about a harmonic minor throughout the discussion. it's a little weird though since we already had the harmonic/natural debate and he still continued on with the C natural in a C# minor key.

yeah "even on that site it says about raising the 6th and 7th notes!" yes it does say that. when it's referring to a HARMONIC MINOR. we were never debating a HARMONIC MINOR. if something is a harmonic minor... you state it. it's never assumed to be something other than a NATURAL minor unless it's stated.

no don't lock this. i want to understand how something as static and factual as a key signature can cause so much confusion. seriously... how can they be different? i'm amazed at that piano world website. i was just assuming all you people who thought a C# minor scale had C natural were just crazy... but now a website backs it up?

umm "Harmonic minor scale has a raised 7th. Melodic scale has a raised 6th and 7th. No? You could argue we were in the Natural minor..." when people talk keys... it's always assumed they mean the natural minor scale. yes i will argue it's in the natural minor scale. that's always what the argument was. it's not a harmonic minor, nor a melodic minor. if you thought it was in the key of E major... you were obviously always referring to the C# natural minor scale.

no "If this song was in the key of C#minor then a B# would be present. " no. not at all. if it were in the key of C# MAJOR it would have a B# in it. if it were in the key of C# minor (which it is) it would have a B natural (oh my! which it does).
