  1. Edit: Damn double-posting :x
  2. what, like this? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/kit.eason/god_novocal.mp3
  3. ahh, a P-bass - excellent choice, madam :D My mate has a P, but in some kinda purpley-blue with a white pickguard. I guess I'll just have to live with my Rickenbacker *sigh* :D :D
  4. hehe :) What is it?
  5. ahh, what, just now?
  6. Chris and Rick:
  7. Jon definitely plays a Rickenbacker, and it's definitely a 12-string - he only uses it for Daylight though. From http://www.coldplay-asia.com: As far as I can tell from the recording, the Rickenbacker Chris uses in One I Love is a 6-string, yeah.
  8. good good :D
  9. Are you implying that I'm not really Jonny?? Well I never...
  10. ooh, something i recorded at the weekend, it was done really quickly and it's pretty crappy, but oh well. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/kit.eason/Don't%20Panic.mp3
  11. yay, I'm Jonny! *dances* *falls over* *gets up* *walks to corner and plays guitar in shame*
  12. You've suddenly got a lot older... Were you born in a leap year or something
  13. Damn you Janny! Foiling my fiendish plot...
  14. Well, I'd be willing to swap my crappy squier strat for your gibson *cough * ;)
  15. ahh, tab is simple :P This is a little guide I wrote for someone on the official board a while back: Each line represents a string. The top line is high E (1st string; the thinnest one) and the bottom is low E (6th string; thickest one), so: e----- B----- G----- D----- A----- E----- The numbers on each string represent what fret to play at, so fifth fret on the D string would be: e----- B----- G----- D--5- A----- E----- A '/' (slash) means a slide (either up or down the string). This means playing the first note and then sliding straight up to the next, usually without picking the second note, so this: e---------- B---------- G---------- D--5/7---- A---------- E---------- means you have to play the D string at the fifth fret, and then slide your finger up to the seventh fret. You can slide more than one note at a time: e---------- B---------- G---------- D--5/7---- A---------- E--3/5---- This means pick E at the third fret *and* the D at the fifth fret, at the same time (pretty easy with fingerpicking) and then slide them both up the neck.
  16. Okay, let's see... - Politik - the chord box for Db6 is wrong. It says the chord starts at fret 6, but it really starts at fret 4. - GPASUYF - the tuning is a bit confusing. It says 4th string is tuned to E#, but of course there isn't really an E#, this is just an F. - Daylight - I'm pretty sure this is all played on a 12-string (at least it is live), not just in the chorus as is stated in the book. - Warning Sign - The tuning's correct, but you also need to put a capo on first fret for gtrs. 1+2. Those are just the ones I noticed, there may be more. Oh yeah, the ROBTTH book is 80 pages and the Parachutes one is 62 pages.
  17. No problem :) As to which one's the best, that depends on which album you prefer. Personally I enjoy playing stuff from Parachutes, as in general it's more guitar-based, but they're both fun. There are a few mistakes I've noticed in the ROBTTH one which I've noticed - I'd be happy to point them out if you want.
  18. Dunno if it's a lot, but the tab book is R$74.08 (according to xe.com), and shipping's free from http://www.coldplayshop.com
  19. Or http://www.pleasureunit.com/coldplay/gear.asp - it's the same list, only you don't need to open a fookin pdf file every time you want to see it...
  20. And of course, the forum's decided to screw up the line spacing  Go to http://freespace.virgin.net/m.eason/You%20Only%20Live%20Twice.htm for a better version.
  21. Okay. <pre> Song: You Only Live Twice (live) Artist: Coldplay From the 'Don't Panic' single Tabbed by Matt Eason (m.eason (at) virgin.net) This tab is divided into two sections, acoustic rhythm and electric lead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | RHYTHM GUITAR (ACOUSTIC) | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 'Cause I'm rubbish at chord theory, I have no idea what these variations on the B chord are called, so I'll number them with numerals. First verse: After the first repeat: Em, F#m, Em, F#m After the second repeat: Em, F#m, Em, B Second verse: Em, F#m, Em, F#m Chorus ~~~~~~ You need to play this first bit insanely fast. It's not too hard. I've only written each chord down once, but you'll need to play each bar twice. Notes that are only added in the second bar of each chord are in (parenthesis). If you don't understand that (and I don't blame you ;)) then email me at m.easonvirgin.net You'll also need a wah to play it properly. |------------|------------|------------|------------| |--12--------|--11--------|--10--------|--11--------| |--9---------|--9---------|--9---------|--9---------| |------------|------------|------------|------------| |------------|------------|------------|------------| |------------|------------|------------|------------| |------------|------------|-(10)-------| |--12--------|--11-(12)---|--10--------| |--9---------|--9---------|--9---------| |------------|------------|------------| |------------|------------|------------| |------------|------------|------------| Then the easy bit (ignore the above instructions for this): |-14-14-14-14-|-12-12-12-12|-11-11-11-11|-9--9--9--9-| |-------------|------------|------------|------------| |-------------|------------|------------|------------| |-------------|------------|------------|------------| |-------------|------------|------------|------------| |-------------|------------|------------|------------| Outro ~~~~~ Not too sure about this: B5, G5, B5 G5 Then this (similar to chorus): |-------------| |-12-------8--| |-9--------9--| |-------------| |-------------| |-------------| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | PLAYING ORDER | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pre-intro Intro Verse Chorus Intro Verse Chorus Intro Pre-intro Outro </pre> http://freespace.virgin.net/m.eason/You%20Only%20Live%20Twice.htm And yes, buy the books.
