  1. Do the Japanese releases not have lyric books/posters. Alot of lyricless US releases are not that way over there. It seems every release in Japan has either a booklet or poster with both English and Japanese lyrics.
  2. Best lyrics ever. Piss on the naysayers.
  3. X&Y = Album of the Year So shall it be written. So shall it be done.
  4. ...and hopefully we'll know what the 14th track is, too...
  5. It's a lossless compressed format. We're talking about very large files around 20-30 MB in size, so an album download would be enormous. Lossy formats like MP3/MP4/OGG/WMA strip the soul out of a song, but FLAC sounds like a WAV file. Usually, you just convert it to a WAV and you're good to go. Do that with http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ and the FLAC codec(s). MP4 is supposed to sound more like an uncompressed file, but you're still talking a 30-50MB file down to under 10MB so that soul is still getting kicked to the curb.
  6. Just use Exact Audio Copy. I've successfully ripped many "protected" CDs with it and with default options.
  7. Download dbpoweramp and m4a/mp4 codecs and convert them to mp3s. http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
  8. Here's a nice "synopsis" of the Japanese tradition of obi strips and exclusive material. I found this under the X&Y page at EIL. It only lists 12 tracks, but it specifically mentions an "exclusive" bonus track is included on it. It know "Til Kingdom Come" is on there, too. http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=315374
  9. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. The Korean versions of those Interpol albums also have the bonus tracks. Another good example is Radiohead's Pablo Honey. It has 5 bonus tracks. I think two were live, and two were b-sides and maybe Pop is Dead was on there...can't remember. It is lacking the US version's Creep(Friendly) hidden track, though. I think the US version is the only one that has that.
  10. what :stunned: Yeah, type "Coldplay Japan" on eBay. The Japanese version has 2 bonus tracks...one which is just "Til Kingdom Come" but they mention a 2nd one and don't name it. Japanese editions of most albums always have bonus tracks(and that cool obi strip), and will cost you about $40 as an import. Anyway, I'm going to make sure it isn't one of the SOS b-sides or a live track that'll probably show up on a single before forking over that much money for yet another import. I have Japanese versions of both Interpol albums and the new Nine Inch Nails. The NIN release has 3 bonus tracks(1 remix, 1 alt. version which is awesome, and a great exclusive new song called Home). The 1st Interpol has 2 songs...Interlude and Specialist and their 2nd has 2 remixes. I'm going to have to hunt down their version of the new Oasis, as well. It has at least 1 song, although it'll probably show up on a single as a b-side. Most of the Japanese exclusives have. Japanese editions also tend to have nice lyric books and/or lyric posters that other versions lack, as well.
  11. Plus they get a "hidden" bonus track 14(in addition to 'Til Kingdom Come..track 13). Dunno the title.
  12. Wonder why they dislike COldplay so much? Man...you'd think Chris Martin himself went out and killed their dog or something. It's an elitism thing. I love RH, too but I'm not an elitist which thinks they're the best thing since sliced bread and all music must be judged against it. Well, I guess I am in a way, but I don't crap on other bands that don't "measure up". The great thing about being a RH fan and visiting that board is that I've discovered a ton of bands I would have never even heard of had I not taken the time to read the posts there. You have to take the good with the bad, though. A couple other bands they really slag off are Oasis and Muse.
  13. Radiohead fans really hate Coldplay. Not all of them, but a lot of them. Check out the At Ease forum music section for the evidence. There have been a ton of CP threads over the last few weeks and the venom is in full force. You'll have to go beyond the first page to see most of them but there are a few on page 1 as of this post: http://www.ateaseweb.com/mb/index.php?s=57e63e32ed80c68565f21379d9d80d8c&showforum=10
  14. Don't forget the alternate version of Spies. That was officially released on some random promo/compilation. The piano version of Yellow is a live in the radio studio performance but still a great quality track. It appeared on a radio station compilation promo. There are probably over a dozen official live tracks from just as many radio promos. There are also a number of collaborations that aren't on that master list. Perhaps 4-6 or more of them.
  15. Gibson hit the nail on the head and as always his wisdom shines forth. Fuck Chris Martin and his hypocrisy and his Thom Yorke complex.
  16. That one's different from mine. Mine's a really thick digipack. I think I remember it came with the 1st one and the other two were separate. It's been so long I can't remember.
