I am currently listening to....
I am currently listening to the new single by Taylor Swift. It's not because I'm mesmerized or pleasantly impressed by it. It's just because I'm intrigued and stunned due to the fact how someone who released such an album as Reputation could bring out ME! afterwards. Well, what an interesting and unexpected reinvention... I keep replaying this thinking "Is this real? How could this happen? What's going on at all?" and wondering why she has decided to choose this route. I understand that this is sort of a throwback to her early pop attempts. She might have grown tired of being badass as she was one during the whole Reputation era, thus, she could have chosen to reveal her bubbly self or become more joyful. I don't either loathe and dismiss or completely adore this song. (Maybe thanks to the inclusion of Joel Little as a producer, the man who helped make the Lorde's debut album.) It's just one of the moments when I'm totally amazed and bewildered, trying to enjoy a piece of music but scratching my head all at the same time. The lyrics are cheerful and quite easy to sing along and I get the message of it. Yet I'm cringing at it and doing my best to take it seriously. (Hey kids! Spelling is fun! Like really? - Sure, this is funny but I feel so embarrassed because of that although I truly want to simper and let my inner child speak for himself.) Somehow, it also features Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco who is (shall I say) a suitable person to carry this with Taylor. (Sorry for ruining this for you. However, I would like to see and hear Chris Martin sing this with her too!) Both of them have shown some good chemistry with each other which is a joy to behold. It felt like watching a Disney movie with a princess and prince which is slightly unusual for my age but you know what? Once a child, always a child. Nevertheless, I'm ambivalent about this new release.

I'm quite curious and looking forward to this as I enjoyed the Who Built The Moon? album though it's the only thing by NGHFB I've heard so far. I've also seen the recording of the band performing and promoting the aforementioned album on Later... with Jools Holland which I liked too.
