  1. After listening to this more, i'm surprised to say that it's become my most listened-to track. I have simply fallen in love with this track... anyone else share a similar view?
  2. I'm not digging the new one too much. While the old one sounded good, I thought it was a little... I don't know, repetitive for some reason. I wish they added more of the old song to the new one, but blah... oh well.
  3. It started out being one of my favorites from the start, partially because the lyrics described a situation I was in to near-perfection (except for the 'you really broke my heart' part). That and the way it's sung just makes this song one of my favorites, along with the bonus track (How You See The World)
  4. It's become one of my favorites from X&Y, surprisingly.
  5. Might as well pitch in my ratings! 1. SQUARE ONE 8.6/10 2. WHAT IF 8.7/10 3. WHITE SHADOWS 9/10 4. FIX YOU 8.2/10 5. TALK 7.9/10 6. X & Y 9.5/10 7. SPEED OF SOUND 9.2/10 8. A MESSAGE 8.5/10 9. LOW 9.2/10 10. THE HARDEST PART 9.2/10 11. SWALLOWED IN THE SEA 9/10 12. TWISTED LOGIC 9/10 13. TIL KINGDOM COME 8.9/10 14. HOW YOU SEE THE WORLD 9.3/10
  6. I love the way the song sounds in general... agreed - but it'd just be nice if I could derive some actual meaning from it... you know? Heh... It's as if one second he's describing how he wishes he could go back to feeling how he felt when he was young or something, and then shifts to talking about someone getting what they wanted in some permanent state, while capping the song off by suddenly telling someone he loves to stay with him? I don't know... i'm trying to draw connections, but i'm finding it impossible to do so in this song. Any insight? Or am I just looking too damn hard? =/
  7. So i'm trying to draw meanings relating to what White Shadows is talking about, but i'm drawing up blanks here. It seems like a part of it talks about growing up and leaving your childhood behind, but it often refers to someone else when it says "maybe you'll get what you wanted, etc etc" and in the last verse, where it says "See it in a new sun rising... see it breaking on your horizon...Oh, come on love, stay with me..." If he's talking to/about someone he cares about and/or loves, then what message is he trying to relay to her? Any thoughts?
  8. I didn't think too much of this song until I heard it for the first time while I was driving. Now it's turned into one of my favorites. It's happened a lot so far, how I seem not to like a song so much - only to realize how awesome it is just a few hours later :D Anyways, I just love when the 'spoons' kick in
  9. Me too, if it's not too much trouble! [email protected]
  10. Can someone please send it to me? Having a hard time finding it as well :( [email protected]
  11. I'm seriously digging this song now. Man, my list of 13 songs from the other thread I made looks almost nothing like what it does now. :P
  12. Oasis... I just started listening to a few more of their songs after starting off with Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Lyla - and I must say, they've quickly climbed the list of my favorite groups to nearly the top. Outstanding songs worth listening to: Champagne Supernova Wonderwall Lyla Masterplan Don't Go Away Don't Go Away (acoustic version - simply breathtaking) Live Forever Half The World Away And for those interested, Coldplay covered 'Live Forever' - which is pretty damn good too. If you guys listen to any of the above, let me know what you thought about em :)
  13. hundredths... hundreds... lmao... can't believe I didn't figure that out
  14. I couldn't find them anywhere, so I decided to listen to it as I typed them out. I'm not sure if I got the part in red correctly, but the way it is below, it doesn't make sense. Hundredths of using the future? Meh... sounds off. Sunlight, opened up my eyes to see for the first time You'll open them up And tonight, rivers will run dry and now for the first time rivers will run Hundredths of using the future It could be computers looking for life on earth Don't fight for the wrong side Say what you feel like Say how you feel You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards again You'll go backwards, but then you'll go... Created, then drilled and invaded If somebody made it some will mess it up And you are not wrong to ask who does this belong to It belongs to all of us You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards again You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards again You'll go backwards, but then you'll go forwards... Anyways, if you have any ideas - let me know :)
  15. I know it's a bit early, but I thought it'd be nice to see where the songs stand in general in being liked. Therefore, feel free to make a list by re-ordering the 13 X&Y songs in order from most-to-least liked! Here's mine... 1. X&Y 2. The Hardest Part 3. What If 4. Twisted Logic 5. A Message 6. Square One 7. Fix You 8. Swallowed in the Sea 9. White Shadows 10. Talk (oh brother? bleh, I liked the great north star better :( ) 11. Til Kingdom Come 12. Speed of Sound 13. Low The funny thing is, I really like Speed of Sound and Talk - but was forced to put them so far down the list simply because the other songs are so awesome. It's hard to believe how some songs are so low on the list, but I love each and every one of em, of course ;)
