  1. the last person i saw rush onto the stage got tackled by a 6 foot, 200+ pound security guard. person looked like a rag doll getting hit by a bullet train.
  2. I find reasons to enjoy all their songs but I do skip songs that I'm just never in the mood for. Songs like Sparks, Shiver, Politik, In My Place, SITS... they don't really represent any of the reasons I like to listen to their music. I guess I'm just more into their truly defining songs like.. I don't know.. AROBTTH, Low, Don't Panic, Yellow, Trouble, Clocks, White Shadows... those songs just make the band for me. I don't listen to daylight off the album but live its a whole different story. Especially at during the outro where Johnny and Chris go through their match-up: Johnny's slide vs. Chris' lala's.
  3. has anyone found any mp3's or video's of them performing daylight?
  4. too lazy to PM this to the person in multimedia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZX_HPui8RA the last few seconds are so worth it hahaha.. shortest cover but damn that was awesome. "YOU SHAKE MY NERVES AND RATTLE MY BRAIN!"

Its best to try internet explorer if you use firefox/opera etc etc... if that still does nothing then its probably just some plug-ins that you need to install.
  8. go check out the coldplayer on the official page. rehearsing Green Eyes/High Speed.. some stuff from Will (the flag story.. they have a laugh), an audio recording of Guy after the first show, etc etc. I'd had no idea it was being updated. well what are you waitin' for.. off you go! Oh yeah and don't get your hopes up.. at first I thought they were rehearsing a new song but they were just having a hard time remembering how to play High Speed hahah.
  9. uhhh.. i don't know if i should make another thread about this cause i haven't seen anyone mention it but... go check out the coldplayer on the official page. rehearsing Green Eyes/High Speed.. some stuff from Will, an audio recording of Guy after the first show, etc etc. I'd had no idea it was being updated. well what are you waitin' for.. off you go! Oh yeah and don't get your hopes up.. at first I thought they were rehearsing a new song but they were just having a hard time remembering how to play High Speed hahah.

  15. 2005 was "shit" due to the terrible presentation and honestly.. the crowd was a graveyard. I'm not a sound engineer but I swear someone was sitting on the "good sound" knob because I couldn't feel any of those songs. I mean they didnt even have the big screen and which is one of the aspects of the tour that makes several of the songs even better than they are.
  16. These are songs that I feel are the best the boys have put out as a BAND. Songs like The Scientist, Yellow, We Never Change etc etc... they're great songs but as a band I swear they're not putting out their best. But the three songs below make me believe that what they're going to release this year will be a monster. 3. Clocks 2. White Shadows - Guy's sick ass bass line alone is enough for me. 1. Low - Good god.. this is one of their most underrated songs along with White Shadows. Both of which should've been singles.
  17. Man I swear if Chris actually answers that question... what are the chances??? haha... I have other questions.. maybe they'll skim around and spot this post.. lets see.. Songs like Talk and Low may sound familiar to some fans that have heard the b-sides that are related to those two songs. (i.e. talk and ladder to the sun/low and moses). Question is this: Are there any b-sides you've regretted not adding to any of the albums? I've always felt that Things I Don't Understand and One I Love were songs that mixed well with the other songs on AROBTTH/X&Y. Speaking of Low, I was wondering why it was not played so much during the 05-06 tour? From the footage I've seen, it looked like a lot of fun for both the band and the audience. Last question I can think of... Guy plays some of the coolest bass lines I've ever heard, not that I've heard many... Question is: Are you particularly fond of any of Guy's bass lines on any of the songs? Not just on the albums, b-sides or unreleased songs as well. I'm pretty sure Guy has loads of bass lines that fans have never heard before. thanks again, Derrick from Virignia
  18. Question for Chris Hello Chris, The other night I had a very awkward dream of us being room-mates. It was not awkward that you were my room-mate... The awkward part was that you were constantly taking showers. When not in the shower you'd either be sleeping or sitting next to me watching tv. If I attempted to talk or ask you something you would not respond and just kept watching tv. Kind of had the feeling I was a ghost or that you were deaf. Anyways, My question is this: Have you or anyone else in the band had dreams about fans? Thanks, Derrick from Virginia
  19. how my setlist would look without all my sidenotes/blahblah's. but if you've seen their setlist printouts that people take home sometimes you'll see random stage things written down. 1. Square One 2. Politik 3. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 4. A Rush Of Blood To THe Head 5. Things I Don't Understand/The World Turned Upside Down 6. Low 7. Don't Panic 8. Daylight 9. White Shadows 10. The Scientist 11. Til' Kingdom Come-Ring Of Fire 12. Green Eyes/Sleeping Sun 13. We Never Change 14. Clocks 15. Talk 16. Trouble 17. In My Place 18. A Message/Fix You 20. X&Y/The Hardest Part/What If 21. Yellow 22. Amsterdam 23. *beatles cover* A Hard Day's Night 24. Twisted Logic 25. Fix You/A Message
  20. doing this for the 25235235th time I see this type of thread up every other month.. can't remember the last setlist i made. Until they release the new album.. I'll have to follow the AROBTTH/X&Y style setlist. Introduction 1. Square One 2. Politik 3. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 4. A Rush Of Blood To THe Head 5. Things I Don't Understand/The World Turned Upside Down 6. Low Mid-Set: 7. Don't Panic 8. Daylight 9. White Shadows 10. The Scientist Acoustic Section 11. Til' Kingdom Come-Ring Of Fire 12. Green Eyes/Sleeping Sun 13. We Never Change Rhythm Section 14. Clocks 15. Talk First Closing 17. Trouble 18. In My Place 19. A Message/Fix You now i know they don't do more than a 18 or 19 songs with the exception of Earls Court, but i know they have the songs to support at least 2 encores. Encore 1 20. X&Y/The Hardest Part/What If 21. Yellow 22. Amsterdam 23. *beatles cover* A Hard Day's Night - I think the guys would have some fun with this one. That would be a fitting end but I really hated how they didn't play Twisted Logic. SO that would be my very last song/2nd encore. Great closer as well. Encore 2 24. Twisted Logic 25. Fix You/A Message The End I know people love putting rare/not-so-rare b-sides in their dream setlists but I guess in my case.. my dreams aren't THAT dreamy. I'd love to hear a random b-side in the middle of a setlist but it just wouldn't happen. Then again Chris did play a lot of random tracks during the rush tour. Anyways other than Things I Don't Understand.. the only other b-sides i'd love to hear would be Bigger/Stronger, The World Turned and Sleeping Sun
  21. http://www.ateaseweb.com/mb/index.php?showtopic=234986116&st=60&gopid=2625681entry2625681 my handle there is "khemikal". honestly.. i can't stand comparing bands period. the "my daddy can kick your daddy's ass" bs is really embarassing. and i don't want to be embarassed because i enjoy lisetning to two great bands who are unfortuantely being compared like two NBA teams.
  22. Hey thank you. I learned something new today.
  23. The singles released in the U.S. made a big deal of how the band is percieved. Well there are many things they could've done to make this album come off as the truly magnificent piece of work it is. People in general tend to not be open minded about music and lash out at anything the media will tell them to. Coldplay just happens to be at the end of that stick along with any other band that 'sounds' like Coldplay. Makes no difference how heartfelt or melodic the music is.. how positive it is.. any band will get put down for it. If the music industry were not an industry things would be different. Maybe Kurt Cobain would still be alive. Maybe hiphop would've stayed hiphop and not have morphed into this money-infested ego-fest. And maybe.. Coldplay would get the recognition they deserve and the appreciation for their music from those that have the power to spread the word that this great band is making some of the best music of our time. As for the singles issue.. picture this: Single 1: Square One - Redefining Coldplay's sound to the world. Single 2: What If - This underrated number would've vaulted Coldplay into another universe. Its a very very very powerful song. Single 3: Talk - They definitely did not go wrong with this single. Single 4: A Message - Perhaps THE most underrated/forgotten song off of x&y. I can't think of a single reason this song did not get the attention it desereved. Leaving the x&y segment of the band's career with this song would've left a deep mark on the music world. Songs like Fix You and Speed Of Sound.. may or may not have had the impact they during the live shows if not released as singles, BUT it was definitely an obvious marketing scheme to release the only two songs from x&y that could've been mistaken for singles off of AROBTTH. Great numbers no less. Another thing I've been pondering.. picture this as well.. what if Coldplay had released the albums in reverse. 1st album X&Y, 2nd AROBTTH, and Parachutes the latest album. Haven't really seen any "innovative/electronic/progressive/alternative" bands release work that goes in reverse. Complicated/layered music to slightly more simple yet meaningful music. What if Yellow was just released last year.. and SOS or Fix You were the songs to put Coldplay on the map. HMMMMM. Oh and yeah.. even though it wasn't much, nice of Sheryl to stand up and say something about it. On that note. Fuck the media. They're like vultures without stomachs. Peace.
  24. Worth Dying For Worth It Worth The Trouble Mouthful Life As We Know It The World As We Know It Planet To Planet Communication Fear Yourself Fear Itself Your Worst Enemy Live To Let Die The Visitor Beyonder The One and Only Thats all. I'm all out. All the "worth" titles I came up with while driving through traffic. The rest I came up with in the past 10 minutes. I'll try again later.
