  1. oh common wtf. some of the fans on this forum are so full of shit that they can't look past their die hard pride for this band. i've loved coldplay since parachutes came out and always tried to take chris n' co. a bit more seriously than most casual fans. but whenever chris talked about plagiarism i couldn't help but roll my eyes cause i knew one day they'd get bit in the ass for the shit they keep pulling. "oh yeah this song is inspired by so n' so...". please i always knew they needed to pull pieces of music out of other songs to create their own. and i tried respecting the ones that came out really good. at this point i feel like i'm done with this band. how in the hell do you expect anyone to respect you if something like this comes up and you just try to pretend like it'll all go away. thats exactly how the biggest in the band in the world might not wanna play this out. not even admit to what you've done like grown ups should? get the fuck outta here. and as fans how in the hell do you sit there trashing this guitarist thats obviously sincere about his intentions and explained the situation in plain english? the guy wrote the song for his wife for god's sake. you don't just steal things like that. sure take some cues from radiohead or munch on a little blur and poop out something like Lost, but don't take something a guy probably cried over while writing and make millions of dollars off of it. but apparently thats all they're interested in at this point. exactly why i didn't attend both shows they played in my area... $300+ for 16/17 songs? sorry, but i saw radiohead for $60 and they played over 20+ songs, full band. and don't even give me that quality over quantity bs, i went to 3 x&y shows and got the same exact set-list every single time. seeing them again + forking over an extra $200+ just because they're using more lights and standing in the crowd for a couple acoustic renditions? oh fuck off. i loved it while it lasted, but sorry chris you and your boys just lost a true fan. i'm sure they'll be okay though, with their golden toilet seats and all.
  2. I understand talking about a show you attended and everything... but I don't understand why they keep posting the setlist. They don't deviate from their list once they find one they're happy with. I really wish they wouldn't stick to one setlist, but whatever it's not my band. It wouldn't hurt to stick Daylight into the setlists or songs that weren't singles at least. And it'd also be nice if they'd just perform their songs with the entire band rather than have an entire segment with just Chris on his piano (as intimate as that is... it isn't worth the money even if you can afford it). what in the world is up with this band? lol.
  3. I'm moving to either Canada or Australia. Living in a country full of fucking morons.
  4. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  5. i guess they're keeping famous old painters and that other song for another album?
  6. if you wanna see a band that doesn't really use backing tracks... radiohead. i just saw them over at the flooded nissan pavillion in virginia(usa). i love the fact that they find ways to play their tracks live w/o having to resort to back tracks, although they do use a few samples... i believe thats as far as they go. like during Reckoner they drop the violins and focus on creating a more full band sound. i'm not saying coldplay is any way inferior... i'm just saying it isn't impossible to play a great show without backing tracks. i feel that chris n' co. aren't really stepping out of the box with their performances when it comes to playing certain songs live, unfortunately they're still in contract with EMI and I highly doubt they'll be able to ever make choices like that until they're free of their contracts.
  7. ss col the rest are all equally horrible
  8. Soup replied to Tonsu's topic in Lost!
great vibe between everyone playing... especially jonny and will... feeling it.
  9. he just didn't like the words the interviewer was using at times so.... is that all? or should i read into it a bit more like people seem to like doing these days?
  10. Soup replied to Pseudonym's topic in 42
hmm i can't seem to find my HTTT but I see what you mean. As for Morning Bell I'm talking about 1:35-2:00 on 42 sounds almost exactly like Morning Bell from 3:30 - 3:55. just a bit more simplified/less efx than jon greenwood kicks in with his tele. am i really the only one that noticed? i mean it's pretty obvious fellow coldplayers... not saying it's bad or anything btw, i'm just pointing it out.
  11. i love how these dumb fucks that rag on chris or the whole band try to talk about being pretentious when it's them thats coming off as unbelievably pretentious. it's like how people rag on tom cruise... i'm like yo wtf have they done that makes them so damn different from anyone else you know? they say the same exact words anyone else would say... only difference is they're rich and you're not. people need to get over themselves and stop fueling this hate machine that isn't even justified. "oh well its my opinion". well no shit dumbass. your opinion also sucks monkey balls.
  12. ok this thread is getting a bit scary...
  13. nah i like the album. some of the lyrics though... *sigh*... so tired of this loneliness? uhh... *skips track* i don't like what they did with the tracklisting either. but i'm glad they're trying. all i ask. strawberry swing is fantastic. col too.
  14. best = strawberry swing worst = yes, violet hill, lost!, death and all his friends, reign of love, life in technicolor
